The $8,000 Mr. Potter stole from the Building & Loan in It's a Wonderful Life would be like over $100,000 today. In my head-canon he got found out and spent the last few years of his life in federal prison.

The Box of Delights was a Christmas TV series I watched in the early 80s in the UK. I have no recollection of the story but the music I remembered almost exactly.

Question for everyone.

What is the best version of "A Christmas Carol" and why is it the musical Muppets version with Michael Caine? Discuss.

Love, Actually is not a Christmas movie. It’s about as Christmas as Die Hard. You just want an excuse to watch the movie.

One of the all-time best Christmas movies is on TCM right now. We’re No Angels, with Peter Ustinov, Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone, Leo G. Carroll, and Adolph the pet viper. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘DIE HARD Is the Only Christmas Movie That Bridges America's Political Divide’

A West Coast-hating 'good guy with a gun' trying to get his nuclear family back - it's a conservative fantasy that liberals can't get enough of every holiday season.

. Time to make a comprehensive list of that are without you even realizing they are Christmas movies.

i.e.
Die Hard (the default)
Batman Returns
Gremlins (yeah I think it counts)
Iron Man 3 (but I don’t remember it to confirm)
…and one I just realized… Edward Scissorhands.

Boost and add on. I want to see what you geniuses come up with.

I asked if there are actually any actually good actual out there ...

And the best one I can think of -- at least one I will definitely watch again -- is Love and Peace by Sion Sono.

It's not technically a but Christmas is referenced, and it does contain Christmassy magic and a mysterious Santa Claus-looking Japanese man

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4173494/?ref_=tt_mv_close

I mean, for the magic alone, this movie is more Christmas than 90% of most Christmas movies.

even though it sucked, The Santa Clause 2 did remind me of a simpler time when it was taken for granted that a fascist Santa taking over was considered bad by most everyone.

Violent Night, 10/10. That’s a keeper for my favourite Christmas films list.

The filmmaker behind THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES, A CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS, and Peanuts holiday specials knows a thing or two about the narrative risks involved in mining our childhoods.

Teen, as their gift to friends scattered around the globe, is planning a holiday fun day next month. They'll be playing games, hanging out, watching cheesy movies.

As part of it they mashed together a few holiday movie BINGO cards.

I, a person who does not like Christmas movies, am once again marathoning Christmas movies for my birthday - and like last year, I'm putting one of my stream slots up for public vote.
So what will it be - the Emilia Clarke self-destructive downer flick? The Amy Acker stalker flick? The Rick Santorum-backed religious nonsense flick? Or the flick where Jack Lemon falls in love with Fred MacMurray's side piece?
You get to choose!
