Just sent email to local #art gallery, that hosts #painting workshops/events/lessons - about how many of us #immunocompromised locals would really like to be able to attend their events & participate in their workshops/painting classes but are unable to because the indoor environment isn't #CovidSafe. I asked if they're planning any safer outdoors events/classes so they're more #inclusive. I hope they will.
I send emails like that to every organization that hosts events I'm interested in but aren't #CovidSafe. In the hopes that more organizations will start making some changes so those of us who are #immunocompromised aren't always excluded from #EventPlanning strategies.
A question, fellow #COVIDSafe folk, what do we think about KN95 mask expiration dates? Seeing a lot of expired or soon to expire masks for sale and my mum is asking if they are still good? So I am asking all of you.
For peeps in the US. I had a link up for a company in Canada, but they don't ship to the states.
I am ordering today to give it a try. I do have a few work days where I have to wear a mask for extended periods, so staying hydrated has been a challenge (my job is physical).
I have seen posts from other Mastodonians saying they have used these on plane flights and avoided catching any and all bugs. Cool!
Mom & I are going to local temple today. We have to help chaperone two Aunties who are still too frail to go on outings alone. We are taking them to Chinatown to get some supplies from Chinese herbs & medicine shop, after temple visit.
My family doesn't have much extra money to pay for fun, family friendly things to do together. I've become very good at finding free or close to free fun activities for us & other families to enjoy.
In summer 2020 when American workers (especially parents) failed to strike to demand #covidsafe schools and workplaces, that was NOT a neutral inaction. That wasn't just a failure to make things better. That was an unequivocal signal to the bourgeoisie to ramp up the exploitation to the max. That was the "fire at will" command to landlords, to CEOs, to the entire capitalist machine. That was our last chance to make a difference and we blew right past it without a glance.
#CovidCautious#VictoriaBC group is hosting a #CovidSafe hangout at #VicWest Park (by the playground), on April 13, from 2pm-4pm.
Look for the folks wearing masks.
I'm swinging by there, after my para-dragonboating practice.
I have made 3 new, local, offline #CovidSafe friends & am happy about that ☺️ They had same issues with losing friends who weren't willing to take extra covid safety precautions around us and/or exposed themselves as antivax & antimaskers.
It's been very hard for me to meet new covid safe friends offline because I can't attend most public social events - since almost all are not covid safe/indoors & high risk for me.
I wanted to share some good news because there's a lot of bad news, everywhere
#Etiquette question for my #COVIDSafe community: If I take the risk of going to a potluck event, is it rude not to bring food, when I won't be unmasking to partake of anyone else's?
I’m low key tempted to start a mask bloc for south shore #NovaScotia & it would be great to get distribution out to the valley, but I have no idea if there’s interest?!
Providing quality masks that are comfortable and fit well, data updates, access to tests and help with accessing services or #CovidSafe events. #CovidIsNotOver
Need a Covid safe haircut in the Sonoma County area!
We have been going to a private salon but the hairdresser has been making slight comments about how we “don’t need to be so cautious anymore”. So, my mom and I would like recommendations for someone who gives great cuts and understands the needs of two high risk people.
I joined #CovidCautiousVictoria local group & am attending my first #CovidSafe outdoors, free wreath making workshop, this weekend 🙂
It's happening at VicWest Park & organizers are providing the supplies. I'm looking forward to the wreath workshop & the opportunity to meet some new covid safe local friends.
Another year of turning down multiple Halloween party invites because they're unsafe for me to be around people not wearing safe n95 masks. We will be doing same declining of party invites come December & January too. The socializing opportunities aren't worth getting covid.
I need a #CovidSafe eye doctor in the #NYC area; #Brooklyn or #Manhattan would be great! In terms of what precautions they take, I'm looking for the works, ideally, but the most important thing is the use of #PPE#N95 by all office staff.
My niece's school only accepts navy masks so scrambling to find an okay band that sells navy n95s now before she goes there...
If anyone has recommendations for kids masks, I'd gratefully accept 🥺
Because NAAT offers a 95 to 99% accurate result (as long as the sample was collected properly), I feel confident that this negative result is a true negative.
No symptom development. Rigorous #N95 use, plus nasal spray & mouthwash, works ✅
Three days later and several more people are showing symptoms of #covid after being exposed to the confirmed positive case from Tuesday. 😵💫
Obviously, they’re still coming to work/school. Obviously, I’m keeping my #N95 on and using nasal spray and mouthwash multiple times per day. Hoping my 2x #Novavax is offering a little extra protection!
