I see some people are really disappointed about Debian packaging a stripped-down version of KeePassXC. But hey, I actually wish there was also a minimal @thunderbird package without integrations of IRC or Matrix etc, just with core email functionality.
I have made the decision to abandon the pursuit of reproducible builds for #FDroid.
Despite efforts since late April, the CI build consistently fails.
I removed the feature, and now CI builds fine.
The app will be on the #FDroid store hopefully in a matter of days.
If anyone has any experience with Reproducible Builds for #FDroid, any assistance within the next few days is appreciated (before the app is actually on the store).

Kennt sich jemand von Euch mit den Datenschutzbedingungen usw. der Kikom-App aus? Bei uns müssen die jetzt alle Eltern nutzen, Zettel soll es gar nicht mehr geben.
Ich selbst wäre da ziemlich angepisst, wenn man mich zwingen würde, eine App zu installieren, die es nicht auf #fdroid gibt...
Man kann sie zwar auch über den Browser nutzen, aber ich denke, die meisten unserer Eltern benutzen/besitzen gar keinen PC.
my wife needs to work with the instagram app for work (yes, I know, but it is that way). So we installed it in a work profile on her android phone (to keep the data in the normal profile safe from the app). The phone is running #GrapheneOS perfectly fine.
Unfortunately, she cannot access the pictures on the normal profile from the instagram app. File shuttle is enabled in shelter and works in the files app, but apparently not from the instagram app. At least we find no way to access the files.
Has anyone done this before? Any hints, tips or tricks?

Do you sometimes just want one tool from the #AndroidSDK in a container or VM, and don't want to deal with the whole pain of setting up #Java and everything? Try the #FDroid sdkmanager instead of the official one. For example, apt-get install sdkmanager then sdkmanager platform-tools. Plus this verifies all packages using apt-get style GPG-signed index with SHA256 values. Useful in #research on #Android#malware#tracking etc. In pypi, Debian, Ubuntu, and https://gitlab.com/fdroid/sdkmanager/
Long time ago, I remember my dad setting off in the dusk, driving north out of Tennessee to Virginia on country roads, toward the mountain, intently looking North to the horizon in hopes of catching an #aurora this far south. I don't think he saw it.
Just back from my own drive (to the same mountain range), where I saw ... a hint of pinkness to the sky. A faint vertical line. One or twice, a flicker of movement.
Not enough, but something. Tempted to drive to Dayton tomorrow.. looking North.
ah, switched opencamera to camera2 api and now I have noise reduction, low light, ISO, exposure settings so can finally take half-decent night time photos.. too late for the aurora. #fdroid

🤩 Kommt drauf an, was Du wirklich brauchst...die Auswahl ist natürlich nicht so groß wie im #Google Playstore, aber für viele Apps gibt es sehr gute und funktionale Alternativen...

SMS: #Silence (ermöglicht verschlüsselte sms, wenn beide Silence verwenden), ansonsten normal und funktional

You-Tube Frontend: #NewPipe (F-Droid) > Videos ohne Werbung, Download als Video oder Audio möglich
Mediaplayer: #vlc (kann alle Formate, Audio und Video abspielen)
Kamera: #OpenCamera (viele Funktionen), wenn es möglichst einfach sein soll, ist auch gut: Simple Camera (s.o.)
Wetter: #FossWetter (Daten des DWD)
Fahrplanauskunft: #Transportr oder #Öffi
TV-Streaming: #Zapp (Mediathek und öffentlich-rechtliche Sender streamen)

Corona Warn-App/ CovPass: gibt es auch ohne Google-Anbindung in F-Droid: Corona Contact Tracing Germany (CCTG)/ CovPass

Three years ago, #FDroid had a similar kind of attempt as the #xz#backdoor. A new contributor submitted a merge request to improve the search, which was oft requested but the maintainers hadn't found time to work on. There was also pressure from other random accounts to merge it. In the end, it became clear that it added a #SQLinjection#vuln. In this case, we managed to catch it before it was merged. Since similar tactics were used, I think its relevant now
I'm 99 % sure I found a music player for Android on #fdroid some time ago, specifically allowing pitch correction (flat / sharp; semitone is the word I'm looking for) , and playback speed modification, which was handy for practicing guitar. But I have no idea what or was called anymore. Any idea?
#emacs is such a rabbit hole. I spent too much time playing with my Android setup with the #fdroid version and Unexpected Keyboard and it works surprisingly well. I'm going to need to either build myself or use the sourceforge release since fdroid doesn't have gnutls, and likely the termux compatible build as I'll likely need more packages. Eventually I'll try syncing up with my desktop config. I still don't fully understand why the f-droid version is stuck at the Feb build...
