@arstechnica Who normal want to use something that is a fake and yet another google driven piece of junk? It is not a real vpn, but only an semi transparent proxy. Identical one to this later implemented "for free" in their Pixel phones. But for this "for free" people are in the reality paying with their own data and privacy. Funny, that they are killing the service not long after being accused of misinformation fraud vs customers, pulled to the light by some security researchers.🤣😂 #FuckGoogle
That is IT. FUCK GOOGLE. If you’re not going to provide technical support with a real live person then fuck you I’m going somewhere else. I’ve had this account for over a decade and now I can’t get into it on my new phone because YOUR STUFF IS BROKEN. And there’s no way to contact a real person in real time for help with any of the products!!
I’m so mad and I’m so frustrated with this whole phone upgrade. So fuck Apple too.
Anyway, any suggestions for email services that will work with the native Apple email app? Might as well be one with good privacy features if I’m making this move. #techsupport#email#privacy#FuckGoogle
As I saw few moments ago not only the gemini has been stamped as bad. Both, good old gopher and finger are marked too. That same dumb crap nag appears if you want to use some of them as well.
I'm getting Google, Facebook and Amazon out of my life.
Starting last year and continuing until it's done, in manageable increments, I've been gradually disentangling myself from three of the worst tech monsters. After 15 years of letting them embed their fangs deeper and deeper into my leg, it's daunting!
Finding an alternative for audio books and ebooks tonight was a nice step. I still have to un-DRM my books from them and find a non-proprietary e-reader, but I'll get to that.
Even seemingly little things like removing Google Analytics from my sites and installing the (paid) non-tracking app Plausible Analytics felt like a big thing at the time. I had to first look to see if there was such a thing as privacy-forward analytics — there is, with multiple options! Then pick one, then sign up, then install and configure...
So I'm taking this step by step. It'll take years. But each additional step feels liberating.
The jury in Epic v. Google has delivered its verdict — and it found that Google turned its Google Play app store and Google Play Billing service into an illegal monopoly.
@alex ...Okay, now I'm angry. Can we have these people beheaded or something now, please? Fuuuck google. Fuck them for thinking they can get away with this bullshit. Anyone have any input on the topic of #Fuckgoogle, lemme know.
BTW #FuckYouTube and #FuckGoogle still.
Embeds of YouTube videos on other websites no longer work for me either.
I've set up a profile on an Invidious instance and moved my most popular videos to PeerTube.
I've installed an extension to redirect all YouTube links and embeds to Invidious so I can actually browse the web normally until YouTube finally bites the dust.
Any time I upload new content, it's going to PeerTube, and in the future I may embed the PeerTube videos on my website.
@rolle SailfishOS phone. Because #FuckGoogle is evil and #FuckApple sucks as hell. They can both shake their dirty greedy hands. And because I just like it.
I believe we have not done this for a while, so in the light of the new #WebEnvironmentIntegrity shenanigans, can I have a hearty "Fuck Google" please? :blobcatmegumin:
#FuckGoogle - I use a VPN and my main browser isn't logged into their apps, so they usually challenge me with captchas whenever I try and search with them anyway.
Feels like an infinite loop of it sometimes.
How hard I gotta work for one quick syntax lookup or whatever?
These days I curse my finger-memory and swap over quickly to the duck.
