I kept unlocking the 📱 a lot to check a cars charging status. Using 's launcher-box lockscreen-plugin and the LauncherEntry DBus protocol we can simplify that and have the information easily accessible:

Charging status of an EV displayed on Phosh's lockscreen.

My first pull request to project (the and one) got merged yesterday.

I ported one of the demos, titled "View Switcher" to python which demonstrated how to use a Adw.ViewSwitcher (from ) using python and deleting certain elements from a Gtk.ListBox according to a button press.

Looking forward to learn language and maybe contribute to Vala ports or maybe write new demos in python?

More than 2GB for a colorpicker? can be a pain in the ass if you have 5 apps, that have 5 different platform dependencies.

For those of you interested in our recent video offloading / zero-copy playback work: I quickly put together some #livi #flatpak s to make it easy to test stuff already. Compositor offloading should work on all semi-recent Intel/AMD and a variety of ARM64 devices.

If you trust the sandbox you can get them here:
https://cloud.silentundo.org/s/r8733siTjP4yRJp

I expect quite a few people hitting driver bugs, so please help tracking those down :)

A picture of a PinePhone Pro easily and smoothly playing a 4k@60fps VP9 video.

For those using HW that still uses the stateful V4L2 API for decoding - such as the #RaspberryPi4 - I uploaded another build to the link in the first post that includes a #GStreamer patch that is not close to landing, but works well enough to make playback work.

With that I can play 1080p30fps videos (the decoder limit) on my big screen smoothly, which otherwise not possible (apart from reducing the resolution).

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/merge_requests/6114

#RaspberryPi #Wayland #gtk

The video shows a Gnome desktop running on a Raspberry Pi 4, using a screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. A 1080p@30fps video is played with the mentioned livi player build. While the video is choppy when the video overlay is visible, it becomes fully smooth once the overlay is hidden and zero-copy playback using the display controller hardware plane is used and the 3D engine can be skipped.

minor tweaks:

Now using title case for the "Dice Tray" text to fit GNOME HIG, and added a label to the reset button

The dice chooser dialog in Chance. The "Dice tray" section header is written in title case, and the reset button to its right has a label.

@Akzel@mastodon.online avatar

Revamped dice tray has landed in main; you now remove dice by clicking the in-line remove button, rather than having to select them one-by-one and clicking a button in the header.

very glad to have landed this and the reset button before 4.0.0, because the old behavior was very cumbersome

UI may still be tweaked before release, but feature-wise I'm happy with where things are at now

It's amazing what coming back to a problem the next day can do...

The "remove" button is now inline on each dice row, with the "Reset tray" button moved to the section's header area.

I think I'd prefer to have an "undo" here instead of a dialog, but I'll revisit that when I eventually rewrite the tray's backend

(also need to swap the order of the dialog responses, oops)

With some preparatory work to allow plugins to use objects from core and @arunmani 's nice work on custom quick settings already merged the often asked for caffeine toggle is within reach:

The caffeine toggle in Phosh's quick setting allows to prevent the session from going idle. The video demos this using "watch gnome-session-inhibit -l"

The Flashcards app can now be downloaded and installed easily (because the Freedesktop SDK Extension for is now on Flathub) using the following link:

https://github.com/david-swift/Flashcards/releases/download/0.1.1/io.github.david_swift.Flashcards.flatpak

Since there is already a app called "Flash Cards", it would be nice to find a new name for this project. Any ideas?

Ported Door Knocker to 1.5 with adaptive dialogs.

Once 1.5 is out as stable, Door Knocker 0.5.0 will be released.

PS: Sorry for the video quality
