Dear #gitlab, please stop screwing with your UI layout. It's getting old trying to find things in the UI that were suddenly and arbitrarily moved. kthxbye
Someone explain to me why replacing a #TOTP generator on #GitLab requires COMPLETELY DISABLING multi-factor authentication, deleting every installed authenticator, and then re-enabling it. Because I can't see any reason why that's a good, secure workflow with desirable #UX.
It would be nice if #GitLab would stop misidentifying freely licensed projects as having a non-free license (with no way to turn off the automatic detection, or hide the incorrect license badge).
🎉 Big news for DDD enthusiasts! Our virtual Domain-Driven Design community has relaunched with a fresh website aimed at easier knowledge sharing across time zones.

You have the site section of "Github Repositories" with a couple of entries there. However, in the text the hyperlinks aren't styled and can hardly be recognized. More importantly imho these pages should prominently link to the repo from where the text is taken, esp. for the ones that are #CCBY licensed.
Gitlab has a backlog item for enabling #ActivityPub support.
There isn't a lot of consistency in this stuff yet, don't know if they'll conform to what #ForgeFed is designing, or just aim for "can subscribe in Mastodon"
They've got chatrooms and public repositories with #gitlab to #github, which is both great and shows that we need more awareness of forges that are more open and less proprietary.

#PSA Before downloading #Yuzu or #Citra following their deletion PLEASE CHECK THE SOURCE YOU'RE DOWNLOADING FROM. A lot of bad actors will try to use those two software as trojan horses .
Isn't beuuase it's on #github or #gitlab that's it's safe.
All of the #GitHub Forks of #Yuzu are looking kinda useless to me because Microsoft can delete them with ease. Mirror it on a self hosted Server if possible or at least another git provider like #GitLab or @Codeberg
Just found out that on #GitLab one can add a + to an issue or MR link, making the preview show the whole title. I.e. instead of "#1234" you get "Some thing is broken (#1234)" - if you write "#1234+"
How clean is your #fork? #github, the place that #microsoft gets #openSource developers to provide it free #ai training data for use by proprietary products, is being attacked by bots making millions of malicious forks (copies) of projects and adding password stealing code.
Check your sources carefully before you #git clone!
A good reason to not like #gitlab is there use of #cloudflare. With my #firefox and its cookie settings and blockers I can't log in, because cloudflare can't check the "security of my connection".
They gatekeep the internet, and when you cannot log into #gitlab because of their shenanigans, there's no way to get help from gitlab because that would require signing in first...
@pocketvj@me no way! #cloudflare is a serious problem, and I've let #gitlab know this before. This crap drives away contributors and projects, IMHO it's in #gitlab's interest to pay attention to complaints about it.
I think it's telling that #GitHub, #GitLab, and even #Forgejo all don't have a workflow for "renew an #OpenPGP key", i.e. extend its validity before (or after) expiry. On all of them, you have to delete and re-add the key. It's as if nobody is following OpenPGP best practices and everyone is using keys without an expiry date.
