Cambridge #HalfMarathon day. Time 3:01:37 - so v. similar to last year - running pace almost identical in fact as there were a couple of stops (Trinity’s gravel path was not my friend). One thing about the wave starts is how the majority of my club have finished when I was at ~5 km 🙃. Will be sore in training this week, then will need to prepare for a few longer practice runs on the run up to the #LondonMarathon. Had lots of positive comments on my cow leggings! #running#UkRunChat#TeamNHRR
Pretty big #fitness milestone! 100lbs down since August of last year
Only a couple pounds away from my goal weight, then I'm going to start slowly ramping up my calories again and start focusing on #strengthtraining and training for a #halfmarathon this Fall!
My first half marathon!
I’m so happy and sore at the same time 😅
Neck pain was something I was My expecting. My posture must be off. #running#fitness#AppleFitness#halfmarathon
For the last month I’ve been doing mostly 6-7k runs, as life has been getting in the way of training for the #malaga#halfmarathon.
On Friday I finally got the time to do my regular 10k route and it went far better than expected (regular short runs seem to help prepare for the longer ones).
So today I mapped out a 13k run. Longest ever for me.
It ended up only 12.25k but still went well. Bit slow, but it’ll do.
A study in gray, along a regular #halfmarathon route nearby.
I don't mind the weather so much, but it does get a bit tiresome in late March & early April.
They've closed the A40 to everything but bus traffic this morning for the #Cheltenham#HalfMarathon - this is what things could be like every day if we #BanCars (or at least reduce their dominance). It is so nice not having constant traffic on this beautiful road, why can't we do this all the time or at least every weekend?
Ran the Media Maratón de Valencia this morning. Didn’t get off to a great start when I tripped in a pothole 90 seconds before the start, skinned both knees & 1 elbow & the opposite hand, also tweaking my left hip 🤦🏼♀️🙈
Nevertheless, got a better time than was even my goal (1:50), finishing in 1:43:30. And had some friends out to cheer! #running#runnersofmastodon#Racing#valencia#halfmarathon
Todays #run was meant to be 15k. Which is the next milestone in my #malaga#halfmarathon training. But once again I got my mapping wrong and it was only 13.6k.
It was for the best though, as my left knee started stiffening up towards the end. So pushing any further would have only set me back with an injury. Need to stretch left leg more in future!
So, milestone not hit today, but still, super happy to do my longest run to date.
@WTL@recollir I think I have only myslef to blame: 10k = 6.21317 miles, and I stopped the watch at 6.20, and that’s what my watch recorded, but #Strava reported 6.21 (?), and neither recognized it’s a 10K run…
More bizarre to me is how Strava interprets the elevation gain: see below from my recent #halfMarathon PR run. The route is pretty flat, so my #AppleWatch is definitely the correct one. Funny thing is this doesn't happen every time. Any idea?
I've been training to hit 1:25 since my half marathon at St. George last October. My PR is 1:29.
Unfortunately, the training hasn't gone to plan. Despite running hills, threshold intervals, long tempos, and lots of slow easy runs, the best I can probably hope for is 1:28.
However, this course is more difficult having about 1/3 the elevation drop of St. George and some rolling hills. 1:28 would mean a significant fitness improvement.
Earned my #HalfMarathon PR today on the beautiful #SammamishRiverTrail (SRT): time 1:48:25 pace 8'16”/mile according to #Strava. My watch again generously claims time was 1:42:49. I picked Strava to be the record.
Temp feels like 50F, dew point 47F, cloudy w/ breeze 3.2mph SW. In other words, perfect weather to get PR!
