Drugs like Ozempic are very effective at helping people lose weight. But will the weight come back after they stop taking them? Yes, for most people, it will. Science Alert looks into whether these medications are just another (expensive) form of yo-yo dieting. https://flip.it/.7L1q2

With the effectiveness of GLP-1 medications finally treating the underlying disorder (a GLP disregulation) bariatric surgery (like gastro bypass) looks like the dark ages. Might as well be drilling holes in their head.

I kinda feel bad for the people who were convinced to get it, having a perminantly deformed and broken digestive system and not fixing the underlying hunger issues...

A new study finds that popular weight loss drug "could be profitably produced for less than $5 a month, even as maker Novo Nordisk A/S charges almost $1,000 in the US..."

The company's combined 2023 sales of Ozempic and related product Wegovy topped $18 billion.

What the hell is going on.... I lost 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg) in literally 10 hours where all I did was sit at my desk all day. I wasnt hot or sweaty, I drank water, I even had a pretty heavy breakfast (eggs cheese spinach, heavily buttered English muffin, and two huge pieces of greasy scrapple).. on top of that i had at least 2 liters of water today and no activity..... how did I loose that much weight in 10 hours.

These drugs they got me on is hitting on another level.

Ozempic profits are helping fund a new Nvidia-powered AI supercomputer

The owner of Novo Nordisk, the drugmaker that gave the world Ozempic and Wegovy, is funding a new supercomputer powered by Nvidia’s artificial intelligence technology with a key aim of discovering new medicines and treatments.

Hit a new low weight on my diet crossing another double digit mark. Its only a few fractions of a pound below my last low, but still nice to see the double digits roll down.

I cant help but feel my progress is a bit too slow though. Ive lost about 16 lbs in 2 months and i feel the pacing could be much greater.

In the past whenever I heard my mom, or anyone, say "ohhhh that meal was so big, ill be full all day, maybe into tomorrow"... I always rolled my eyes and just thought "You enjoy sleeping in that bed of lies".... But now that im on / I can relate. I woke up today and had a huge hoagie for breakfast. But Now, 12 hours later, I dont even feel hungry. Hell some of it is still in my stomach i think (i taste it on my burps)... soooo weird.

The nice thing is i can eat a cheat meal now and it fills me for so long it isnt even really a cheat meal at all. Like yea it was too many calories for one meal, but over a whole day it was still on the low side.

As some of you know ive been on / / once daily instead of the usual weekly.

I created a log of my historic blood accumulation when i was on once weekly and now that im on a daily adjusted dose. The blue lines show total amount in my blood, red i dicates equivelant weekly dose based on daily dose x7 and yellow is based on expected blood concentration.

As you can see the daily dosing produces much more constant levels. This is based on the typocal 7 day half life.

16 lbs down since started /

I also started on TRT 3 days ago which seems to have jump started the weight loss again resulting in 2 more lbs lost since then.

Looks like I might also have hypothyroidism, waiting for the second test on that one.

Just for fun I decided to do the math to calculate the amount of Ozempic/semiglutide in my system based on the usualy dosing of every 7 days (in red), versus dosing every single day (at 1/7th) the dose (in green).

The two colors represent the upper and lower limit (it will at the upper limit right after a dose and at the lower limit right before a dose).

Notice that dosing every day makes for a much more stable concentration. Note this assumes a 1 mg dose (y-axis) and the x-axis is in days. I will start dosing every day tomorrow.

For those curious I also attached the equation that I calculated (derived) for the half-life. Both in its continuous form and as the summation.

This is amazing. Apparently CEO’s of food companies (probably ones who produce a lot of processed food) have been calling the head of Ozempic’s parent company, freaked out that people might stop getting fat eating mass quantities of their food.

Panic attack!

I have lost 35 lbs since taking and I feel like I am swimming in my clothes. Everything feels loose, and if I don't wear a belt, my pants fall off!

I have been a size 34W for years. I went into both Target and Macy's to try on pants. 32W feels loose and 30W feels comfortable. I haven't been this skinny since high school!

No wonder it feels like I stretched the waistband on my underwear too much. I need to buy new underwear before I buy new pants.
