(Note: the picture on the top us from "Harley Quinn: Welcome to Metropolis" when her and Ivy took over a condo in Metropolis after fleeing Gotham and made an adorable little home for themselves in the city)
This Spring has been a bit confusing on the poison plant front. Someone on strava posted photo that my phone said was wild sarsaparilla and he swore was poison ivy. They say the sarsaparilla is commonly mistaken for ivy in the Spring. I've never been that good at ID’ing poison ivy.
Monday's trail run through the woods was punctuated by me leaping over/around clumps of the stuff, whatever it was I didn't want to take a chance.
Along the rail trail today we found lots of poison ivy and when compared to the sarsaparilla it’s obviously different and distinct.
yesterday while trail running i came across this fallen tree. it looks like a thick vine wrapped and choked the life out of it, and the storm this weekend finally took it out. i couldn’t easily identify the vine, but whatever
this morning i wake up and i’m breaking tf out with what sure looks like poison ivy rashes.
i came back, and identified the vine as, yep, poison ivy. thick woody 1/3” vines up and down the full tree
Today 71 years old 💝
Happy Birthday to the one and only Kristy Marlana Wallace aka Poison Ivy Rorschach, co-founder of the American punk rock band The Cramps, born on this day 1953 in San Bernardino, California.
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy began as femme fatales created by and for men. But have since grown from friends to lovers, emancipating themselves from the straights of Gotham as DC's most recognizable lesbian couple.
Here's to hoping we see them together on the big screen sometime soon. 🥂 The very gay animated Harley Quinn series is certainly my favorite thing DC studios has produced in recent memory.

Yes, you're getting poison ivy more often because of the CO2 that's been dumped in the atmosphere.
For those outside North America, Toxicodendron is a genus of plants which have an oil on their leaves and stems which gives most people who come in contact with it an incredibly itchy rash which lasts for weeks.
@historyofpunkrock I went to a record store in #NewOrleans in 2000 and I saw two elderly folks in the #Punk section, #Cramps specifically, they were looking through #CDs as I recall. I'm nosy and old and I asked them what they were looking for and one of them said;
"Our granddaughter plays bass in this band, she calls herself #PoisonIvy!"
I shook hands, told them that I thought their granddaughter was excellent and beautiful and went home completely sandbagged! I'll never forget that!
