Does anyone else have an excessive amount of CDs? I'm busy ripping all of mine so I can get rid of the discs. Man, I had a lot of CDs. Lots of great music. Glad I'm saving it, even though I get all my music from Spotify.
The media player in @elementary skips - second every thirty seconds or so when playing #CDs. If I rip them to HD, they play fine from there. You’d think there would be plenty of speed to play CDs at real-time when I can rip at 16x. I don’t l know enough to even start to troubleshoot. Is this a regular issue with playing CDs on #Linux? It is a i5 7th gen with 12Gb RAM. Would changing player software help?

I hate to say it, but I suspect my CD player is finally failing, after 25 years of loyal service. There's an almost imperceptible buzziness to some #CDs that I don't get from the Bluray through the same amp and speakers. N thinks it's sacrilege to even suggest such a thing. And yet the doubt nags...
