After backlash from fans, Disney has decided not to remove "Howard" from its streaming service. The movie is a documentary about lyricist Howard Ashman, the gay man who co-wrote the songs for Disney’s "Little Mermaid" animated movie. The move was considered particularly egregious since it was planned for the eve of both the release of the live-action "Little Mermaid" and LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
Kids who got suckered by the "no kink at Pride" discourse: I wonder if they're seeing the error of their ways now that Florida is banning Pride parades due to the possibility that kids might see (kinky, to the straights) drag queens
#Ace and #Aro belong under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. They have not universally historically been included under the "A," but they have always been there (sometimes under the A, sometimes under the B, but they've been there).
#Queer is a reclaimed slur. As is "gay" and many of our other terms.

I met my husband when I was 21, next month we will have been together for 33 years.
During that time I referred to him as my partner, mainly out of self protection, because you don't know how a person will react. We got married (well civil partnered thanks to the half arsed laws in the UK) and I started calling him my husband because it seemed that sentiments were changing
I refer to him as my partner again, because you don't know who you are talking to and how they will react..

As a gay man who came out at 30, I wasn't aware of how much of a marketing "opportunity" this was until my partner showed me Trixie Matell and Katya paroding pride ads.
Pride month represents how far we've come, and the countless people who fought for these rights, while corporations try to take credit, we shouldn't forget all those brave people who sacrificed so much for so little.
I finished hiring a summer intern for my program. Happily scheduling out #Pride activities for the summer. Doing some backgrounding on some potential new advo partners. And, as always, a lotta meetings.
I ALSO managed to clean the heck out of my house and even made a bit of wedding planning headway while The Fiance was away on a work trip. He's coming home tomorrow! <3
