#sketchbook May 2024. Even when I'm on another leg of #zeruchontour , I try to keep a drawing practice going as best as I can. In this case a bit of a #drinkanddraw session in an absolutely spectacular boutique Hotel I found in San Luis Obispo, called The Granada. I basically broke out a few old sketchbooks and if I couldn't think of anything new to draw I started painting in very skeletal #doodles from the semi distant past. #beer by #ThereDoesNotExist brewery in SLO. #art#artistsofmastodon
A new adventure painting, from our first visit to Muir Woods, a truly magical redwood forest just north of San Francisco. We were there in the late afternoon, and found it low in crowds and high in light rays 😍
"The characters in the book were forever making sacrifices or performing rituals so the gods would smile on their endeavors. Often the rituals didn’t work, but the humans somehow never blamed the gods, only themselves." Another adventure painting, a driftwood log I found covered in moss and lichen, at Gold Beach earlier this month. (I found a lot of cool driftwood that day!) One for #Mosstodon? Enjoy!
Dolores is an utterly charming and beautiful soul and I feel very lucky that I got to spend so much time in her company for this article – the first ever about her in the English language, I believe!
I'm finally sticking to it again: new content on my Ko-fi page. To be enjoyed with and without coffee. ☕ :blobcatcoffee:
And 🤫 you find even #mosstodon there! https://ko-fi.com/naturematchcuts
Pieces that only exist once in the world.
My beloved fairy necklace with earrings went to a client in Hollywood. Paper yarn in fairy green with Japanese glass art. Elaborately handmade. For people who dare.
I still make them today in several colours, but each one is unique. Why did I never made one for me?! 🤔
So I just learned about #Portfolioday sadly I seem to be a day late for this month, but I hope it's alright if I still share.
My name is Laura; I've been drawing in some form or other since the early 2000s, but decided to focus on it more seriously in 2018. If I have a niche, it's likely best described as "weird eyes" but I honestly enjoy drawing whatever comes to mind. My main media are colored pencils & inks, but I'm also learning about water colors using water color pencils and I occasionally play with markers. All of my polishing up is done via Clip Studio Paint.
I have shops on Redbubble & Ko-fi where I sell stickers, printables & digital downloads.
Thank you for the opportunity to share. Below are recent designs I've done.
Presenting DUST OF OSIRIS, watercolor and ink, 12x12”. Inspired by the Egyptian decorative motifs, the Egyptian Revival movement, and a high-res photo of the opened OSIRIS-REx sample container, containing dust from asteroid Bennu. This has been a labor of love for me, I hope you enjoy it!
Nearly done with the ink/gold portion of the #osirisrex#wip. Next up, decorative precious stone inlay (in paint, both figuratively and LITERALLY thanks to my Daniel Smith PrimaTek #watercolors), a golden center, and finally, asteroid samples!
