I genuinely hope everyone who gets a Vision Pro loves it. I hope my initial misgivings about it are wrong and that a use case presents itself immediately. But I dunno man. It’s like I said the other week: this is a dev kit that is being positioned as a consumer gadget and I just haven’t been “sold” yet.
I love nothing more than to spend money on useless shit, but I need to be sold. And so far, I haven’t been sold.

@briannawu I think what the folks on #TWiT 972 were ignoring (re:TikTok) was NOT just the dissemination of US citizens’ data to foreign companies (like data brokers do), but the ability for those foreign companies to influence - in a direct way by showing you different videos, etc - in the app itself. They directly control what we see based on data they get from us! Dangerous!

Interesting hearing people working at tech platforms blaming influencers for the worst of social media. The two work very much hand in hand. Gamifying reach creates these things. That’s why I much prefer this and Nextcloud for my primary platforms. #TWIT
One thing that would make me immediately sign up for #ClubTWiT is to be able to "guide" my $7/mo to specific podcasts - like @incomparable does.
What we just went through wrt @leo HAVING to end some podcasts is they chose which ones to end. I'm sure they had figures to work from, but I'd like to make sure #TWiT, #MacBreakWeekly, and #SecurityNow are the LAST to go - if go they must.
This may be the way it would automatically happen cos of listenership #s, but I'd feel better if I could "vote".
