For #ThrowbackThursday, on this day in 2016 we installed a rack to hang my bicycle on the wall of our apartment.
I miss this plain old acoustic bike sometimes. It served me well through high school, college, law school, and my wanderings afterwards. It wasn't a cargo bike, but I learned to attach panniers to it and carry groceries. I awkwardly strapped a case of oranges to the rear rack a few times. A good steel bike is hard to kill.
I left it at my parents', and my dad gave it away recently.
I found this photo the other day and it made me chuckle.
Me , my grandma and brother during the afternoon do for my first marriage (1995). The wedding was great even though the marriage didn't work out. It's my Grandma's look of complete boredom that tickled me. Plus the fact that my brother looks like a pop star ⭐
It's also pretty much the only time I dressed up (it was much more low key 2nd time around). I don't look like I'm comfortable in that dress! #ThrowbackThursday
#ThrowbackThursday. 10 years ago, when I was a kitten and had not lived here long, we had a flood from a storm. Here's me inspecting the new kitchen floor. I have always enjoyed a good inspection. #CatsOfMastodon#Cat#Storm
A 19th century copper printing plate for Liberty Brand Cake Flour in St Louis, MO. We found this cleaning out my grandma's farmhouse and have no idea as to why they had it. They were farmers and so were the previous generations.
#Throwbackthursday to 2003. When my fascination with VR really fired up. I was so excited to have a 1MP camera to get a photo of using this.
A WHOLE MILLION PIXELS!!! WHOA 🤯
My first ever video game! Chip's Challenge holds a special place in my heart; the music, sound effects and graphics will be burned into my brain for the rest of my time on this earth.
I never made it very far originally, but have recently gotten up to level 36 as an adult. I hope I will be able to muster the patience and brainpower required to make it to the end before I shuffle off this mortal coil.
I think I'm finally ready to share my website. Been working on this off & on for over a month, it's just a simplistic web portal-type thing for all the stuff I've put out on the internet.
This is my first time making a website from scratch, so I'll likely update the design as I learn better ways of doing things. I'm in love with the old web ethos on Neocities, it encouraged me to finally make the jump!
If you're tired of reading online news articles that are stuffed full of ads and autoplay videos, I recommend trying out http://68k.news
While intended for vintage computers, this is actually great for any device if you just want plain text news articles. I have it set to open as a secondary tab on my internet browser.
Our first #autumn cool front is passing through, has been raining most of the night, by tomorrow we’ll fully feel the effects and our terribly long, hot & dry summer will be over. For those in northern climates I imagine this is equivalent to getting your first warm day of spring after a long winter. Anyway, with autumn on my mind (my favorite season), here’s a #ThrowbackThursday photo from a glorious fall day spent at the Gorges du Verdon in southern #France.
I mentioned my 1840s half dime earlier in a conversation with someone, I think @Rasta while talking about family antiques. I got in my safe and dug it out this evening. I haven't looked at it since my mom's passing years ago. This was found on my grandma's property in the 1980s. It's got some damage from the plow, shovel or both.
Today is #ThrowBackThursday, so here's one from the past.. 40+ years back. While waiting on a weekly flight, I rented a van and drove to Karlsruhe. I had nothing to do for 6 days, Supertramp was playing in concert.. with Joe Cocker and Chris de Burgh.
33°C, they hosed the crowd to cool them. I was alone, and no one knew I was there. In retrospect, this was scary.
#minkorrektcommunity
I was today years old when I realized these sprites that create route borders in the generation 1 Pokémon games are not giant boulders and are, in fact, shrubs.
My reality has been shattered, I am unwell. Words of encouragement would be appreciated in these trying times.
