Light streamed through the windows, flowing like water into the room and filling it with a rich and satisfying warmth.

She leaned toward the light, into the light, seeking to capture that glowing warmth onto her skin and from there, to absorb it into her very being.

How gloriously contented it made her feel!

An unusual pink-flowered Common Rock-rose (Helianthemum nummularium) growing on Solsbury Hill near . Flowers of this species are normally yellow. Potentially an escape, but given the location this would be unlikely.

Bramble the juvenile this morning in . Bramble is 5 1/2 weeks old and fully independent, trying to their way in the world. This is Bramble's favourite perch, where they sit and wait for an insect to fly past or a spider to run on the ground below.

Today we travelled to the , which is just over an hour away by train, making it suitable for a day trip. We cycled to our and left our there. In , we only used pubic and walked everywhere; we were lucky that although today had been planned well in advance, the weather was wonderful.

Two fossil imprints of the shells of Trigonia dug up today near the top of a hill in . These molluscs lived in the Jurassic Period at a time when even the hills in Bath were under water. The rock is (I think) Inferior Oolite.

My friend Hedgy feeding one of his fledglings today in Somerset . Hedgy's mate, Hazel, has made a new nest is currently sitting on the next batch of eggs, leaving Hedgy to look after their little ones from the previous nest.

My friends Hedgy and Hazel feeding their fledglings today (or in one case attempting to feed one of the chicks a bee, but it turned it down). The chicks left the nest 11 days ago, they can now fly quite well and are starting to find their own food, while still getting plenty from the parents. In

A collection of clips of fledgling European Robins being fed by their parents. On one occasion a parent drops a mealworm and has to pick it up from the floor, and on another occasion it attemtps to feed its chick a bee, but the chick refuses.

My friend Hedgy collecting food for his fledglings this evening. At least 3 of the 5 chicks that left the nest 9 days ago are still around, usually hiding in the hedge, and the parents are still feeding them. In .
