I couldn't update the Calckey instance. I kept getting all sorts of errors so I decided to just rebuild the server and attach the database to it, pray that it was compatible, and here we are. Long day.

#Firefish, née #Calckey, has issues, unfortunately. Most times I try to use my account now on firefish.social there is something that goes wrong, or is too slow to be useable. Like right now. Refreshing the home timeline produces just internal errors.
@Dragon Good question. Not sure it's possible. Ping @ada & also pinging @april as this is definitely an accessibility issue that needs some consideration.
Wondering if with the transition from #CalcKey to #FireFish, the backend to restore posts from a #Pleroma / #Akkoma backup is finally working. (Last time I tried, the system got stuck hard) @thatonecalculator@kainoa

@jaz might be useful to talk to on the subject of moderation, and server covenants. @leewalton can certainly provide dire warnings about the hosting storage requirements.

And I would strongly recommend being careful if you used a managed host, there are issues with media URL's being able to be moved, and if you do self host fully use a dedicated URL and S3 / Cloudflare R2 from the start!

Not sure what's happening there, but I assume the big flurry of follows from there is a #Calckey instance firing up, or clearing a backlog or something?
