I got my first AI generated voicemail last night. It used my name and everything, pretending to be my dad. (He did not accept my transition back in the day, so it was immediately obvious)
If you thought the robocall waves were bad, just wait.
Five years ago:
"A group of progressive Europeans led by the economist and author Thomas Piketty has drawn up a bold new blueprint for a fairer Europe to address the division, disenchantment, inequality and rightwing populism sweeping the continent.
The plan includes huge levies on multinationals, millionaires and carbon emissions to generate funds to tackle the most urgent issues of the day, including poverty, migration, climate change and the 'democratic deficit'."
#Calls for a wealth tax to finance the green transition are picking up in Europe"
In 2023, a study "found that a European tax on the 0.5% richest households would bring in 213 billion euros a year, anything but insignificant."
There is now a European Citizens’ Initiative on the wealth tax (link in next post). In many countries, including Germany, public opinion seems to be in favour of such a measure.
For video meetings, could the software edit my eyes so other attendees see me looking at them (directly at my laptop's camera instead of slightly lower at my laptop's screen), in the interest of better #interpersonal communication through eye contact?
