I get a lot of people calling out my #Bitcoin skepticism (as in: Bitcoin is a worthless piece of hot garbage trying to kill our planet) because number is again going up. This time it's real, now that the scamers have been caught and all.
But if you want to know why Bitcoin goes up you just need to look at one curve: Tether has printed 4 billion USD from thin air in the last week.
While it's great to see the crypto scam artists SBF and CZ been caught and punished (sadly without making their victims whole) the actual rock that whole scam economy is built on is Tether. Has been Tether for years.
And I really don't get why US regulators let some weird company print fake USD.
Played a game of People Power: Insurgency in the Philippines, 1981-1986 by #gmtgames. The final campaign became a close contest between my Reformers and the Government. If the final Election card had turned over 1 card sooner victory would've been mine. Or if I had picked my different Act of Desperation. Early heavy fighting in the cities of Zamboanga and Davao. At the end the focus shifted to Manila. VP: GOV 3, REF 1, NPA -6
Silver #coin depicting the god #Dionysos sitting in his biga, a chariot drawn by a team of two animals. Dionysos is holding his iconic thyrsos, a staff of giant fennel. #Apollon Kitharoidos, Apollon the kithara player, is sitting beside him. The biga is drawn by a panther and a goat, both of which are animals sacred to Dionysos.
The pledge manager should open up real soon. I still don't know what set I'll go for but probably dragon? Kinda wish they had colour variations of dragon tbh.
💡Taking on an intriguing challenge: bringing creativity to life from scanning an ancient coin. Thanks to ControlNET and its lineart plugin, I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. 🪙🎨
Part 2 of my #AtoZChallenge2024 reflection. I love the personal connection you find with #coins & the community. I wrote most of the posts in the weeks prior to the #AtoZChallenge. This was fortuitous as my mother passed away early in April. But those connections made it a joy to re-read each post & share it. Today's #coin is from day "D", #Denmark, & a park open when my ancesters lived there: https://coinofnote.com/25-ore-token-denmark-dyrehavsbakken/
Romans used to say "caput aut navis" (head or ship) in Latin. In Spanish, "heads or tails" is translated in South America, "Cara o sello" (face or stamp) or "Cara o escudo" (face or emblem). In #Spain "Cara o Cruz" (face or cross) and in #Mexico, "Águila o sol" (eagle or sun).
When I looked at Yugoslavia as Y for the #AtoZChallenge, the first coin I liked was the 1955 50 dinara. I love how that series of coins work together. I wrote up the earlier 1931 10 dinara first, to break up the history of the country a bit, so today here is that 1955 #coin: https://coinofnote.com/1955-yugoslavia-50-dinara/
Appel aux gens du #Gers : j'ai enfin ma maison dans la campagne au sud de #Gimont et je souhaite m'équiper de meubles de #brocante. Auriez-vous de bonnes adresses à conseiller dans ce #coin ?
Did anyone else back the flipdie Kickstarter?
