Hello my Mastodon #friends. How was your #Christmas? I had a really hard time with my #mother. We assume her dementia is a behavioural variant frontotemporal #dementia that causes emotional problems and bad behavior. I was exhausted when I got #home#yesterday. I even got off the train in Pasila, too early. 🙈 I had a migraine yesterday and #today. But guess what? I had a #date today and we had so much fun. He drove for 2,5 hours to take me out for a #dinner and now he's driving back home. 🫶 😘
So I found some stone flatbread and decided to make myself a vegetarian pizza. Just to make things fun, I sautéed the cherry tomatoes, bell peppers and mushrooms. I mean, why not, right?
The sauce was some leftover marinara. I will confess to adding some homegrown garlic paste, because, well I was raised right.
Eight minutes in the oven and I am happily dining on a little pizza-four servings that fit into a rectangular Pyrex dish so well!

Got my small #sousvide unit with me (#Japan 110v is fine) - but finally after 3months using it now for tonight's #Dinner prep. #Steak (no not #Kobe ) Australian #beef this looked ok - salted + touch soy overnight, touch of peated whisky and blk pepper + hint of cumin then at my preferred 54.5 ⁰C [will let this go 1+ h]
No big pot here, so just using the rice cooker pot.

Tonight's dinner: Fijian goat curry, I'm soooooo making this again. Soooo tasty! Recipe came from a spam email advertising goat meat. Improvement for next time, pull the bones out as soon as the meat falls off. They got so soft they broke apart when serving. #Dinner@Homecooking
Tonight's dinner: Spinach and ricotta lasagne. From 'Andy Cooks the cookbook', p139. Will need to try this one again, more thinner layers required to stop it turning into soup. Super tasty though. #Dinner@Homecooking

A fair bit to take in for new/current coworkers office staff - but perhaps a bit for breakfast? Ah that ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶b̶e̶ is something to wake up to !
Due to some... unpleasantness my wife was stressed and we ended up going out to dinner. Everything turned out fine in the end and I tried a delicious new dish. Garlic bread in a waffle design made by Fazio Bakery on The Hill, spaghetti, spicy meatballs, spicy marinara with mozzarella and provolone cheese. The special tonight at Sugarfire BBQ.
On the way to grocery shopping today, we bought some cotton-linen #fabric to make more reusable #dinner napkins for everyday use. I really don’t want to make more #napkins right now, (I have a lot of funner things on my #sewing list), but we’re now back to using too many paper napkins lately, so we need them. I usually do plain wide hems with mitred corners, but thinking about maybe using some decorative stitches or machine #embroidery to make it more interesting? Or not…?… #sewing@sewing

Tonight's dinner: grilled chicken with golden curry. Added potato to the standard carrots and onions today, I'll do it again. I sadly forgot to stick an egg in the gravy to poach it, but still a tasty meal. #Dinner@Homecooking
Made some #chicken#curry for our family #dinner tonight. Made it medium spicy as my middle brother doesn't like super spicy. We're having it with jasmine rice.
