Ever since I was born, there has been a door in my basement. A black door covered in runes I cannot read. As there's no door on the other side of the wall, logically this door must instead open to other worlds. I haven't had the courage to open it yet, but hopefully I will eventually. #FairyTaleFlash#flashfiction
So with Substack no longer an option - anyone know of a good platform for releasing regular (weekly or fortnightly) #solarpunk flash fiction, articles, essays and art? Is there anything else out there (other than Patreon)? #writing#newsletters#FlashFiction
I still don't understand why you did what you did. When the detective reneged on the deal after you'd caught the Boss for him, you shoulda run! I was, am, nothing to you, just some idjit girl who'd gotten herself blackmailed into a gang because I really was that flapping stupid and trusting! I'd borne so much bad news to you over those months. We'd shared being caught in his deceit, forced to do horrendous things, having lost everything, our dreams rubbed in our face.
That don't make us two sisters!
Why didn't you run? Why'd you turn, get in the face of the copper that had me on the ground, then spirit me away?
You saved me. You helped discover how to start my life a new. I will be forever thankful. I may never be worthy of such a gift, but—
Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their support of "Fireside Fairytales". I'm really touched anything I do brings joy.
Unfortunately, my laptop shorted today. I'm trying to resurrect my old laptop b/c it is $$$ to replace my laptop & I have no money at all. I'm tempted to link my Ko-Fi, but I won't b/c it's too much money to ask of a small community.
TL;DR - until I get my old laptop working--or replace it--there can't be streams.
Some very kind people made #donations to my Ko-Fi to help out with the laptop(* see note). I didn't know how to say "thank you" so I made little #stories and #FlashFiction as thanks (one isn't fiction, too! It's a story of how I broke a different laptop 10 years ago).
[*though I should reiterate it is too much money to fix or replace the laptop than I can reasonably ask for in donations]
My parents were shocked when I started working in Santa Claus' shop. My family's been blacksmiths since the moment we were changed from maggots to dwarves, and they couldn't see a dwarf in any other life. But I like fresh air -- claustrophobia is crummy for a dwarf.

Though Santa Claus is based on St. Nicholas, some people have noted similarities to the Norse god Odin (a flying steed, all-seeing wisdom, etc.). They don't realize that this is because Odin has disguised himself as Santa as a scam to steal modern worshippers. #FairyTaleFlash#FlashFiction
