During the American Revolution, Belfast Maine was burned by the British. Again, in September of 1814, Belfast was again taken by the Bristish and held for five days, during the War of 1812.

With a chilling breeze coming into the harbor, from the open ocean, I pulled on an extra layer of clothing as I prepared for a scenic walk around the beautiful waterfront of Belfast, Maine.
