Been watching some older #movies such as Cleopatra from 1963 and Ben Hur.
It's a really nice change of pace (quite literally). Movies are slower, take more time, show things and thanks to the practical effects, hold up well. I also like how "fit" and "attractive" characters were just people rather than dehydrated steroid recepticles.
I was surprised how great Cleopatra was. Very close to the amazing depcition of that time period in the marvellous #Rome by #HBO

I just finished #TheLastOfUs. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m not great with scary stuff and kept putting it off. It was totally worth it. Excellent story.
Jesus christ... I randomly decided to try watching #titans on #HBO because I was hoping it would be at least somewhat fine to watch with my kids... HAHAHA NOPE... everything seemed fine, just a darker emo teenager tone superhero show, then SURPRISE, one of the characters' mothers gets shot in the back of the head, and they show every gory detail of it 🙃
And the way the HBO show preview screens are, there was no rating visible.. So the violence came out of nowhere. But of course we all know we'd NEVER see a female nipple anywhere--what if some teenager were to accidentally find out women have nipples as well, not just men?!
Well, y'all, #HBO's rebranding is going really nicely for #blind people. The iOS app presents a perfectly useless CAPTCHA dialog after entering your email and password. The only way that the dialog box can be made accessible is by using screen recognition. Then you get to identify an animal sound from three options and type in your option. Once the audio plays, the entry screen disappears, meaning you can't enter the number.

Finished True Detective season 4. Overall I enjoyed the dark and moody atmosphere and the performances, particularly by Jodie Foster, Kali Reis and Finn Bennett, but I thought the momentum caved in (pun intended, for those who've seen it 😉) at the end. The revelations in the final episodes felt rushed and unnecessarily far-fetched.
SEASON 2 is coming out on October 23rd people. If you have HBO & haven't watched this crazy ass show, make it a priority. If you like horror with a dollop of deranged glee, you need to check it out.

If you have not yet seen John Olivers takedown of corrupt Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, you absolutely should. It is one of the best Last week Tonight episodes ever, and absolutely well deserved.
Is anyone else watching this new series on #HBO, "#TheRegime" starring #KateWinslet? Only the first two episodes are out now, but I think I really like it. It's about the unraveling of a fictional, authoritarian country in Europe. It's got a solid cast, lead by Winslet. Check it out if you're looking for something new to watch.
