I released the Hapax Socks today! Ideal for OOAK hand-dyed yarns, these toe-up socks have a classically-beautiful geometric texture that fills the instep, leg, and gussets. The horizontal stitches are formed in a way that keeps the fabric stretchy, and a traditional shape with adjustable sizing makes these a great-fitting design with thoughtful details.
The best burn I ever heard was my grandmother talking about a person she didn’t much like, saying “she knits like she has friends to give all those scarves to” 🤭🤣 #Knitting
It's 100% merino, hand dyed by Cesium yarn in their Est 1973 colorway. They also have an anti-fat tax (you pay less for more skeins) which is fantastical.
Feels good to have a new project on the needles. Any time I get to bust out my CG Forte needles it's a good day!
I’ve realized I never talk about my #knitting or #spinning on here! Here’s a bunch of my #handspun yarn, spun by me on my spinning wheel, from the past 10 years. I need to actually knit with it at some point!
I am recovering from a brain tumor and paralysis, living at longterm care/rehab center (unfortunately, pretty bare-bones sucky) while I learn to walk again.
Part of my recovery is to knit - fine motor skills! But my stash is utterly pathetic, as is my bank account.
If you have a bit of yarn to spare from your stash, could you send me a ball or skein? Thank you greatly for your donation! Address follows. 🙏🧶💞
Skeins/balls of any size and type will be gratefully received! 🙏💞🙏 It will be used to make items for myself and others, including my medical caretakers. Thank you thank you thank you!! ☺️🧶😘❣️
Argh I've misread the pattern for the sleeves and so I ended up 2 stitches short on both the sleeves but one extra stitch somehow on the front, leaving me 1 stitch short overall (since Iwas supposed to reduce 2 for the pattern).
Do I rip out the sleeves to fix it or add a stitch and keep going?
Nur noch dreißig Runden für den zweiten Ärmel und dann eeeeeendlich der Schalkragen. Dann ist das Teil auch nach Jahren fertig. #knitting@handarbeiten@knitting#stricken
These two bright bois are off to their homes on Monday.
Yellow isn't typically a color I surround myself with. But I am really loving the spring-time feel of them both. Hopefully their new homes will enjoy them as much as I have!
The Fine Sweater is finally complete! Great pattern by Yu Jie, based on the comic by KC Green. This is definitely the most complicated thing I’ve ever knitted, and I think it took me as long to embroider it and weave in the ends as it did to knit it, but I’m glad I did it. Not recommended for anyone who is a perfectionist, though. #knitting@knitting #knittersofmastadon
I finally finished my Dustland Shawl by Stephen West. It was easy and fun to make. I used West Wool Tandem DK in the shade Roswitha for my yarn. While I loved the yarn’s pinkness and softness, it was a little splitty. It also took me 8 entire months to finish this thing. I’m not only a slow knitter, but I’m also often exhausted by my teaching job, maybe more exhausted than the average teacher. I’m beginning to wonder how sustainable this job is long term. #knitting#teaching@knitting
I'm spamming this on all my socials because I am proud AF of this masterpiece of #knitting
