touchy subject! but does anyone have any examples of telemetry in open source projects that has been done well?

success criteria:

  1. allow the project to allocate time to things people actually use
  2. identify issues people may have, as not everyone files issues or can effectively report a bug
  3. preserves privacy + anonymity, and isn't creepy

eg right now I'd love to know what config/features people actually use, so I can stop maintaining what isn't necessary

@ellie I believe does it well, as does

Yessir, that's a lot of bull.

Hm, encountered a storage resize issue with on my cluster - seems like it could be caused by an upstream kernel bug, so I might need to upgrade my nodes' kernel at some point.

Washington Post is on its game with the weird and delightful pet stories today. This one is hilarious with great video and photos of a some guy's pet steer named Howdy Doody with impressive set of horns. Howdy Doody loves riding shotgun in a converted police cruiser, going on walks, and ice cream treats. Gifted article here: https://wapo.st/3P2iUVo

Well that’s a bummer. None of my Longhorn PHP submissions were accepted. I did submit them in a hurry, in order to make the deadline. So, it probably wasn’t my best writing. But i was still hoping to be able to speak at Longhorn. Just means i have some improvements to make

After doing a number of disk and filesystem migrations, I think this cluster has a good start for it's storage. Still have about another 15TB or so to add in the near future at some point. Not nearly as big as our Ceph stuff, but should be plenty enough for what this particular cluster is doing.

I did a thing. I had deployed out of band with kubectl + git reference. I wrote a script to "convert" the Longhorn deployment to a release, upgrading it back to a proper Longhorn release in the process. (Obviously, use this entirely at your own risk!)

@vwbusguy everytime I see I think Longhorn is meant. Don’t know why…
Waiting soo long in my teenage years to get hands on it, and never did.

Big trouble in little cluster today 😅 I couldn't create new volumes and after chasing down everything , it turned out to be some weird multipathd issue...

Longhorn in a Sandbox:

TL;DR: Deploying a cloud native storage solution locally in VMs, for the sake of kicking the tyres. It went pretty well.

First part of a new long term home project coming in. An #Ubiquiti PoE+ switch to power a small #Kubernetes cluster built using #raspberrypi nodes. Going to blog about every step once it has been completed. But it is going to be a few quarters long project doing bit by bit

Looking at ' and this looks like a good fit for my cluster 😱. The storage is also worth considering.
