What are these smol geese? They're called Cackling Geese, and will sometimes be found around flocks of Canada Geese. Apparently it's a fun challenge to look for them during bird counts. Though they have the same colours, they stand out by their size (not much bigger than a duck) and proportionately smaller neck and bill.

The long-awaited return of the #StanleyPark train is happening later this month, but not all of the cars will be running – and not all children will be able to participate.
According to Vancouver’s Park Board, the are no accessible trains this year, something that was available in previous years.

@thetyee I always wonder how frequently would #StanleyPark have been in a forest fire, if it weren't in the midst of a city. Once in a century? More often? I doubt the current underbrush would have accumulated under natural conditions.
