We finally got a break in the cold wet weather for me to wear this dress I got from the #thriftstore a couple weeks ago... In general I've grown up wearing a lot of monochrome tank tops and jeans, and flowery or starkly defined patterns feel like "old lady" clothes to me (idk why, don't judge me) but I'm trying to get outside of my comfort zone and change my dress style at least a little bit... Just wish I had a friend who lived close to me who understands fashion so they could help me build up a (used) closet that doesn't look like trash 😅 I rejected all things "girly" throughout my entire childhood, mostly because I didn't want anything in common with the Mean Girls™️ who made my life h*ll, and even at almost 40, I still feel an aversion to trying to look anything like what my brain interprets as feminine (I'm fine with other people looking feminine though, I just always feel like it looks weird on me). I also hate that I get gross sksualized comments from strange men on social media REGARDLESS of what I wear, which kinda makes me want to bring even less attention to myself, but I don't want to let the creeps dictate my life...
Anyway we're due for nice weather for another couple days before heading back into rain, but of course my ****ing period started this evening, so no more dresses until Monday at the earliest 🙃🙃🙃
All this rain has made Lainey slow this morning, so the shop will open a little late today. A big sorry to all the monday morning shoppers, someone should be in by 1 and there till 5.
i hope everyone got some #sleep over the weekend, i know Lainey did ❤️ meanwhile we were busy restocking in a massive way!! look out for sweet #suede, lots of #leather, and thick #sweaters coming soon in time for the #coldWeather! Today, we put out new #purses and #bags for the first time! We also have lots of great #hoodies, some great #dresses and lots of finds for #halloween - deep in a bin is at least one firefighter uniform!
Something to remember if you're clearing out closets & donating to a local "charity" or baffled at some re-sell prices.
Value Village employs marketing tactics that lead many to believe it is a non-profit entity.
Value Village is in fact the biggest FOR-PROFIT thrift store operator in North America and SVV-N shares are traded on the NY stock exchange.
Got this interesting find yesterday at a local #thriftstore. A #stadia controller in basically mint condition. Missing the Chromecast Ultra tho, can't say I'm surprised by that. But now that you can turn these into regular Bluetooth controllers after the shutdown of the Stadia service, you can still use them. I got this for €20, which is a good price if you ask me when you take into consideration that a #Xbox or #playstation controller can be around €50 - €70! #thrifting
Friend and I had a conversation earlier about thrift/2nd hand stores and how ridiculous the pricing is in Finland and Sweden.
Most of the better quality clothes cost almost the same as new same one.
I would really want to buy my clothes in 2nd hand more often but there is no point for me to pay near full price on item I can get as new :/
I tend to wear out a lot of clothes until they are threadbare - mostly because I tend to not have a ton of money to replace them. I still love my #RacerX shirt I found at a #thriftStore in my early 20s.
I still have my two #Incredibles shirts from when the first movie came out as well.
I have no idea why the word extreme is in this game, but it's a great bowling game that is simple to play and has absolutely bananas customization of your bowler and ball. The rest of the game is just bowling. Normal bowling.
Great game 10/10 for when you really just want to play with the character creator but don't want to actually have to think about the game that much. Very specific vibe.
Its #CDFriday time, and I'm going with the Melrose Place soundtrack. I found this today while hitting up a #ThriftStore near the grocery store I was going to.
I remember owning this before by getting this soundtrack as a teen through either BMG or Columbia House. It has some great songs from Letters to Cleo, Frente!, Annie Lennox, Divinyls, and more!
