@ViolaB @linuzifer @rstockm @ordnung Social Media Plattformen sind ein öffentlicher Bereich im Netz. Wenn ich so dermaßen von irgendetwas 'getriggert' werde das ich es nicht mehr aushalte, sollte ich entweder das 'Social Media' sein lassen, oder ich gehe in Therapie.
Ich verlange ja auch nicht das der Marktplatz umgebaut wird weil mich da irgendetwas 'triggert'.
Bezogen auf dein Beispiel von misshandelten Menschen: Niemand baut eine Gasse um weil es irgendeine/n Unbekannte/n vielleicht triggern könnte da durchzugehen.
Im Gegenteil. Es gibt ganze Filme darüber wie sich Menschen ihren Ängsten Stellen. Das Internet zensieren und Aufkleber davor zu pappen was drin ist ist keine Lösung.
Wird so etwas von der Politik gefördert, wird dagegen protestiert.

Also ja. Man kann das, was auf Chaos.social vorgeht durchaus kritisieren. Mehr noch da Chaos.social den Schuh anzieht und von sich zu behaupten einer bestimmten community anzugehören.

Soll sich Chaos.social doch bitte in bluemchenwiese.social umbenennen, oder in leahundrixx.world. Dann wird es zwar auch Kritik geben, aber weniger, da es eben nicht mehr "Chaos" sondern deren eigenes Ding ist - mit eigenen Regeln und eigenen Pflichten.

Aber es ist nunmal die inoffizielle "Chaos" Instanz. - Eine Instanz die unter einem bestimmten 'Banner' steht und 'offen für jeden' ist. Und da gibt es nunmal massive Kritik wenn du Leuten vorschreibt was man wie zu posten hat.

OK. So Mom is getting a new Laptop this Christmas.
Let's start Project 'I give mom a @fedora KDE Laptop and make it look like Windows to see if she actually is able to use Linux, if I don't tell her it's Linux.'
Actually, I tell her this is Windows 11, but I made it look like Windows 10 so she doesn't feel uncomfortable.

Desktop symbols look the same as on the current pc. Firefox ans thunderbird profiles are imported from the old windows pc, files are copied. All is set.

My guess: She doesn't notice and tells me in a few days that 'the new laptop is so much faster than the old one'
(spoilers, she's upgrading from a Lenovo T500 to a T550)

My site's firewall informs me that we're now at 1526 blocks of the ChatGPT bot’s attempts to scrape/steal my content to train their plagiarism sauce.

I'll say it again, there is no ethical use of LLMs/“AI”s at this point. You know the ecological devastation, the plagiarism, and the racism. Just don’t use it, even for lulz.

I also don't miss Mrs. Smith, Hair stylist talking about how Covid vaccines spread turbo-cancer, because Mr. Braindead, her Half-sisters cousins colleague from work at McDonald's said so.

I don't have any remorse emptying the old account and leave it there to rot.

And I bet, you still have those followers. Just not all of them have a mastodon account. Which you don't need since Mastodon isn't blocking content and ask you to please create an account.

I like Parallels for Mac, but I don't appreciate their refusal to ship security updates after a year unless I "upgrade" to their yearly subscription model.

Parallels' model seems to be that with every new version of macOS you should have to pay them again, or run a product with known vulnerabilities.

I'm really sick of how everything has to be a continuing revenue stream for software companies, and it steams me that we still don't have any basic rights or guarantees defined as buyers and users of software.

This is my bestie for the past 17 years, Thor. At one point, we had 4 cats. Thor is the last man standing. (All the others led long, happy lives). My oldest son and his fiancé live with us and have their own cat, Eevee, who is Thor’s new arch nemesis. I post many pics of Eevee here, too.

I wish just once I could play one of the games I bought without first having to download a 40 gb file just to update a few game elements. Nobody and I mean nobody in the gaming world cares about people for whom that is like 2 days worth of data allowance.

The only 'big' update I got revently was CS:Go to Counterstrike 2. Besides this... I think the biggest updates I receive are content updates from Killing Floor 2 (around 5GB) and Content Updates on ESO and Guild Wars 2.
