so, today I learned that change in the work regulations from a few days ago came from them realizing that at least one person regularly had a sports rifle with him in the office.

see, he couldn't leave it in the car by law, so he took it with him into the office.

and as this is europe, nobody ever thought it needed to be spelled out that you don't take guns into your workplace. he on the other hand pointed out that nobody ever spelled out that it was not in fact allowed.

Honor Harrington gets into themes of sexual assaulti later books. I can't recall exactly when. It's relatively minor, but it's there, as Honor has to deal with her rapist. Also, I was never overly impressed with Weber's ability to represent women well.

You might look at Binti by Nnedi Okorafor. Living ships, cultural acclimatization, pirates... all kinds of fun stuff!

- Will Still Be Playing in 20 Years

Let’s see, in 20 years I’ll be 71 … so yeah, the answer will still be Dungeons & Dragons. Hopefully, it’ll be with the Blackrazor Guild, but if not, there’s always the grandchildren and their friends.

@nukehavoc I spent a whole day copying text out of Roll20 files into Word, setting the font to a dyslexia friendly one, and then copying the text back into the Roll20 file. It's not a perfect solution for my kiddo, but at least it will help some. Not one native font in Roll20 was good for her. It's such a simple thing for designers to do, but usually, they use whatever default or something fancy that's worse. I think the main problem is many people think the dyslexia friendly fonts look stupid.

    We were always the ignored generation. We were ignored as latch-key kids. We're a small generation. Business trends have always jumped over us. Maybe because we aren't as cohesive as other generations? We didn't really have a rallying, defing event I can think of. OK, the AIDS crisis, but honestly most of the cis-het world ignored it except to think "those gays" were icky. So, not really the same as Veitnam or 9/11 (for the US, obv).

    I think I need to get back to studying up on and again. I'm betting we'll be done with the in a month or so, which will make it my turn to run.

    Any hints on running ? I don't actually like the genre, and am running this system by request for a dear friend. I have a co-worker on Montréal, so I'm getting a feel for the weather at least!

    @rivetgeek That makes a lot of sense, given what I've read in a lot of the books. But there's also that edge of horror stuff in some of the NPCs - well, I was going to say "like Porelyn." And then I remembered why. Duh
