The time I went for a feast in rural . This is the typical ‘plate’ where you’ll have 3 to 4 people eating the meal from this one ‘plate’.

The idea is to manifest the Mizo culture of community with rustic served in banana leaves. cooked for the feast is served in the middle.

Rice served in banana leaves. The rice is spread in a circular fashion with around the banana leaves with a space left in the center for serving the meat cooked for the feast.

at a Jat Friend's Place in Chandigarh.

I had to ask him, "Jats don't have much of a , am I right? This , this dish, that dish?" And he was like, "I don't think so".

Roti with ghee, Daal, Chutney paste of green chillies and onion, and fried pumpkins or Kaddu ki sabzi. Pretty simple, if you ask me.

If Gonzalo Lira had been trending like is now, I would've thought this platform is neutral. Doesn't seem to be the case.

Before someone asks, "Bridgy Fed currently supports web sites and blogs and the fediverse via ActivityPub. Bluesky/AT Protocol and Nostr are planned for 2024."

The more your explore and read. Should not be construed as ‘my’ opinion or a potshot at Mastodon. We all know it’s an issue with other Fedi software as well (servers included). The FAQ section answered a majority of my non-expert questions. Still can’t wrap my head around NIP though - only that it’s a protocol(?) of sorts :D

I would feel the same if this was my town, Mr Sanada. I would feel the same. Some can be a huge menace.

After 20 years of service, friend retired from the IAF. Sharing what he received on retirement day with his permission. Nah, not the ‘jet fighter pilot’ level. Retired on Friday, joined work on Monday for a consultancy based in [European country redacted]. @mastodonindians

At the insistence of a guest from my state, asked the security guy at the local park if we could chop ‘just one’. As he permitted and watched us chop, he smiled and asked, “It can be eaten?”. As we left, my guest while shaking her head, “They don’t know what do with it?”.

Yet another example of India’s ‘food’ diversity :D

The bamboo shoot in pic 1 made into soup based on a Mizo recipe.

I have no idea what’s the breed of this dog but we just call it ‘Zo Ui’ (Zo Dog). Alert, great friend (of course), no manicure or pedicure needed, zero-maintenance cost, will eat whatever the family eats, walks for miles with you when you go hunting or for a stroll in the jungle. If tired, will lie down on the leaves (stomach side up), takes rest and then catch up with you (as this guy did). Most of all, super curious.

I ask for the ‘breed’ because they’re not the same stray dogs we find in Indian cities - has this typical curly tail, is short, and the ‘real’ ones have this brown coat.

‘Puan Laisen’, the distinctive mark of the Mizo people. Being one, I’m a bit partial as to how much I love the colors and the combo.

/ Yeah, very similar to the colors of Iraqi flag 🇮🇶 . The colors of the ‘Young Mizo Association‘ flag (an NGO) are also similar. Didn’t like it very much when I first realized it (in the sense, that it’s not so unique…haha).

If you've ever wondered how a plantation looks like. The tree with the smallest girth will fetch roughly ₹10k or $120.

People are constantly advised not to plant them but who can control human greed, it always takes over. Nothing but the teak grows in these plantations - no birds nor rats, insects, or snakes. Depressing to be honest.

#TIL about a really high quality and expensive #vegetarian meal in #Japan called Shojin Ryori. It's a vegetarian cuisine that's prepared at Buddhist temples and is mostly found in Kyoto. You will need to reserve ahead of time for these. #Vegan #Japanese

Interesting to see you can still view profiles and their posts when a server is down. Case in point, mstdn.social.
