Hi DeJoy.

allegedly ignored its own heat safety programs & manipulated official records to hide those actions ahead of unrelenting summer of extreme heat that killed scores of people across the U.S.

...allegedly doctored heat training records of thousands of mail carriers. One of them died on a blistering day in June. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/11/usps-major-heat-deaths-00128875?cid=politico_threads

I have a theory about why the NYT and WaPo force you to subscribe the minute you click on their site.
I bet back when they first went online they allowed 5 or so free reads before they required registration. What they discovered is that most people only read 2 or 3 articles a month. So they went with making everyone pay instead of producing content more people wanted to read.

We need an amendment that includes expulsion from the Congress for any member attempting to use their position to interfere with the orderly processes of government, mount an insurrection, or stage a coup.
We’re living in the goddamed 21st century. We need laws and a government that reflect the modern world. Simpler language, more transparency.
We need to reboot this country. Cruft has built over the years. The whole structure requires re-inspection before anyone’s allowed to move back in.

I’ve read on several I’ve been sent, in small print, that benefits are cut 50% at age 70 and more as you age. So by the time your family really needs that insurance money to pay for medical care or a funeral, the policy is worthless. And no guarantee payments will go down 50% when the benefits are cut.

i love how anti-maskers are always like "do you think we should continue wearing masks forever?" when people talk about the dangers of covid, as if thats some kind of game-winning gotcha

well, the alternative to masking is catching covid 2-3 times a year, a disease which gives you cardiovascular damage, strokes, brain damage, nerve damage, diabetes, chronic fatigue, lung damage, and dementia. among many other things. and the risk of all of those goes up geometrically the more times you get infected

so, idk man, should we continue to wear masks for the foreseeable future? yes, because i think wearing a mask when out and about is a lot less harmful than any let alone all of those

Jack,
@Jack@allthingstech.social avatar

@eniko
It’s astounding that the anti-mask whiners pretend that something thousands of doctors and nurses around the world do every day is somehow deadly and will kill us all. Or that the government making safety requirements is excessive overreach when they wear seatbelts, stop at stop signs, or don’t contract polio.
