they are actively at war with us and it's fascism everywhere.

They have created 'Maxwell's Demon' a physics and info theory from James Clerk Maxwell, and it's about total control through info. this is what they envision.
Sure some people need your info, I thought they needed mine too. People who care will seek out informationto help them care better. They should have left FB long ago, and leaders should lead the way.

Next time I work an event with seniors, gonna ask them if they had these whining “don’t vote!” B*tches in the Civil Rights era.

“MLK got shot! Nothing we do is working! Time to stay home and pout!”

These people use voting day like it's a day of absolution for their apathy every single other day of their life. They use voting like a scapegoat for not dealing with injustices that are all around them everyday in tbeir own purview of home, family, colleagues & workplaces. They want someone else to do it for them, put the heavy lifting onto one person, rather than 'bear their own cross' & do the work, & when that inevitably does not work, & politicians exploit apathy they grumble.

Scientists are now saying we are “out of time” to keep global heating at under 1.5°C. It’s simply too late. We’ve delayed any action far too long.

All our talk and meetings and phony “Net Zero” pledges don’t mean anything to an overstressed climate system that is rapidly breaking down.

    You can’t fool Mother Nature.

The target of keeping long-term global warming within 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) is moving out of reach, climate experts say, with nations failing to set more ambitious goals despite months of record-breaking heat on land and sea.

“We’ve run out of time because change takes time,” said Sarah Perkins-Kirkpatrick, a climatologist at Australia’s University of New South Wales.

As climate envoys from the two biggest greenhouse gas emitters prepare to meet next month, temperatures broke June records in the Chinese capital Beijing, and extreme heat waves have hit the United States.

Parts of North America were some 10C (18F) above the seasonal average this month, and smoke from forest fires blanketed Canada and the US East Coast in a hazardous haze, with carbon emissions estimated at a record 160 million tons.

In India, one of the most climate-vulnerable regions, deaths spiked as a result of sustained high temperatures, and extreme heat has been recorded in Spain, Iran, and Vietnam, raising fears that last year’s deadly summer could become routine.

Countries agreed in Paris in 2015 to try to keep long-term average temperature rises within 1.5C, but there is now a 66% likelihood the annual mean will cross the 1.5C threshold for at least one whole year between now and 2027, the World Meteorological Organization predicted in May.

this is the problem with waiting. The supplies and the ability to access them and do the work necessary will be severly hampered by climate change.

    @GhostOnTheHalfShell @breadandcircuses

I don't disagree entirely. Smaller communities rather than big cities that manage their specific environment and work interdependently is the way. Self sufficiency can be individual which won't work. It must be greater than the household, but probably no larger than a certain density to manage in a cooperative way.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @breadandcircuses what is the dutch model? I know a lot of people struggling in the Netherlands.

I also think we should do more canals though as in Netherlands, using solar frictionless barges and boats, and houseboats, modes of living, canals that can double as hydro electric, & made to assist in irrigation, control, and dispersment of heavy rains. Slow, quiet travel instead of fast. Natural beauty, great for community.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell 100% I agree with this. We need city councils to update building codes and allow for best practices and more flexibility while providing solid engineering.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @breadandcircuses yes. I agree. I loved biking around Amsterdam. It's great for cities. Bikes and canals and next to no cars. lovely.

I think there is some truth to that, but also not following the herd is punished, so while we want belonging, it's been replaced by needing to fit in, conform or be ostracized. I think this is learned, not innate.

I think belonging fully to yourself is an admirable goal. After that I think boundaries and self respct makes fitting in pointless and undesirable. Only belonging as your authentic self will do.

LOL, yes, I knew asking people not to be dicks would be a major trigger for overly entitled, insecure, and hateful white people.

I knew my mentions would be a trash fire when I woke up.

Bigots are very predictable. They can't help but show they are bigots.

Just do the usual and block and report accordingly.

People don't realize the damage to vulnerable people the birdsite collapse has, a platform they use for mutual aid, community support, and crowdfunding is gone.

Whether you like it or not people are harmed by the end of it.

So if it makes you feel better to see it die, consider those whose survival depends on those connections.

There aren't other platforms currently with the same networks and capabilities.

Yes, everything is #politics, everything is #political. Trying to avoid politics does not make you safe.

Being #politically aware, well-informed, and consistently active are our only hope for our individual and collective safety.

Choosing to disengage is cowardly surrender, and does exactly what the oppressors want, making you another one of their tools.

It's ok to rest and recharge, it's not ok to put the full burden on others; that's complicity.

Some of my own ideas about civic engagement and community literacy are in my pinned tweet here. It's about sortition, and an end to professional proxy politics to be replaced by sortition, governance and outreach programs and getting everyone working together to do problem identifying and solving.

This is a cardboard model of a TTC streetcar. In a stunning coincidence, as of today this model can carry just as many passengers as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT can currently carry!

one of the very major things my therapist reinforced with me, I am very good at communicating. We communicated very well & she told me so. People who care will communicate to me with respect. As I do with them. She made it clear the issue isn't me by how she behaved & how we problem solved. She told me when people do care, they show they care by listening & how they respond to my needs etc. Do they care about them? I'm self dx'd at 57.
