@morgfair I wouldn't say there's "virtually no" awareness in media, there is some, and certainly medicine is aware, as in fact new vaccines are being launched shortly for just this phenom, but yes--we're not watching this closely enough. And here i am getting ready to take plane trips and stuff.

@arstechnica I suppose so but many a site has already vanished and many an article too, for years now. Much of the internet's content--not Ars Technica and not CNET but much--is just junk, at best. Some of it is even toxic disinformation and hate speech.

I'm 100% for legal immigration and I understand that the asylum seekers are fleeing dangerous situations in their own countries to come here.

But NYC is getting extremely overwhelmed at this point. We're building tents on Randall's Island to house migrants now. Is this really the best solution? Even if migrants manage to get through the system, and find work...NYC is still really damn expensive to live.

The whole situation is very unfortunate.

@KristianHarstad What I would tell Jane: I think actually something can be done but it requires a deep dive with amazon. One has to be very, very persistent with their customer service and complaints dept. Also, you can try to get in touch with Amazon's legal dept. They have one.This may take a deep dive too. Then say, "I'm going to have to go to court if this doesn't stop". They ARE liable at amazon, and they know it. Finally, pay a lawyer to serve a cease and desist. It would be worth it .
