Finally listened to my foley recordings from all the uses since it got here. All hail cicada double-brood emergence 2024!

I have a few approx 1min clips of crickets, birds, cicadas, a natural spring, chickens, and light morning rain with birds.

If I clean them up a little (cutting unwanted sounds like gear handling, car rumble, etc) I can use them for sound design layers of future music.

Do you have any use for them?

There's some diaspora on Vancouver Island (and several other places in Global North) who have severe , to the point that they're not just into & capitalism but they're so self unaware of internalized racism that they don't even know when racist white folks them to defend/justify racism & use them to push WS beliefs on their own peoples.

I lose my fu*king shit around Asians like this. They harm us Asians who fight for human rights.

    It insane to me how often women are not given pain management for gynecological procedures, because many many years ago a male doctor who's never had a vagina, cervix, or uterus decided that there weren't enough nerve endings up there to hurt significantly. I think it's time to put this fallacy to bed. It most definitely does hurt, and people who have literally no experience with female equipment don't get to decide this for me. Trust me docs, you don't want to taste your own medicine on this.

    One thing I learned the hard way is that we never know how others see us.

    Stand close enough to a person who has met all your career accomplishment dreams and goals in unflattering lighting. Learn their flaws, failings, weaknesses. See them at their worst.

    Weighing yourself against them could mean very little, tbh. Even if you come out stronger, you have not measured up to their accomplishments.

    But what if you could see yourself the way that person looked at you?

    Being close to artists or musicians, people of creative or innovative technology, etc.. seeing them as regular people makes one see what one could do.

    If we only could see how others saw us, we might be prouder of who we are, who we've been, who we can be.

    I wish I had not learned this the way I did, but I always felt like an observer in crowds like that, not like I belonged as an influential or important part of those groups.

    I see myself differently now, thanks to the bruises and scars.

    Rock Star Professor with Peter Pan Syndrome plays petty, manipulative games with his best student who was only in it for the head start at a career and had no idea he'd be so unprofessional.

    IT WAS TOO CLICHE TO BELIEVE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T BELIEVE IT.

    Why else would a man pushing 60 try to help a 40 yr old student? I did not think I was that pretty or whatever. I just wanted that foot in the door.

    Today's lunch - the steamed rice we had with the foods here isn't in photos.

    Homemade style crab, egg, rice vermicelli & water chestnuts meatloaf (cua chả trứng hấp) & Viet grilled pork sausage (nem nuong) . We eat it with rice & fresh cut veggies, with nuoc cham sauce poured over..

    Do you believe in love?

    I only believe in proof, anymore. Gestures, words, thoughts, actions... these things prove love exists.

    Love is not a spell, a word once spoken does not contain meaning if there is not proof.

    I've never been so disappointed and dismissed someone faster than them claiming love but there was no proof.

    Seeing the proof in everyrhing they do but they never say it is to be preferred. I want to see and feel it. My heart is tired of waiting to see the proof behind words.

    Please, ask your friends and online contacts to put money into Alabama politics.
