Never have I ever... Furry +18 edition! (art by shinigamigirl)
The rules are simple:
Everyone who's a furry and reads this thread needs to add a comment. Write about something that you haven't done yourself, even though it might be common, you're interested in it, or curious about it. For example:
"Never have I ever had sex in a fursuit"
Anyone who has done it, will leave a reply to that comment with the text "*drinks*" or similar. Make sure to check back in later to see new messages and reply to them.
You can also reply to each other to ask questions if there's something you're curious about.
Feel free to bring up both SFW or NSFW topics. Please be respectful and don't bring up NHIE statements that are malicious, political or divisive.
((By the way, thank you for your suggestions on the ideas thread for conversations topic the other day!))
Nobody told me apparently a week or so ago they announced that Ace Attorney 4 5 and 6 are coming as a trilogy to Switch in 2024????????? Hello do I know no Ace Attorney fans????
Imagining a future where EU phones all have special SKUs with removable batteries and alternate-store/sideloading capabilities and a bunch of people in America are desperately trying to get one and the one cell carrier who coincidentally happens to use compatible 5G frequencies sees an unexplained bump in users https://mastodon.social/@djlink@mastodon.gamedev.place/110577781950724658
@mcc I can imagine most smartphone producers just switching over to only making EU models and sell them in US, as there is no law in the US forbidding replaceable batteries (yet)
Working on games is cool cause they're antithetical to clean code. I'm sure some people will argue but clean code relies on systems that obey a set of distinct rules. Those rules are almost always absolute
So you start your game with your clean rules. In context A you can do B but not C
But an unfortunate part of game design is that the most interesting powers you can give players are the ones that break the inherent rules of the system. So inevitably you'll wind up with a bunch of code that works around your baseline rules and that always turns into a goddamn mess
@eniko the good part ist, since you enforced your clean code rules, you can spot the obvious breaks a specific rule does and if they don't take overhand are managable.
@theresnotime drowning or more like suffocating (because it is based on lack of oxygen) is the worst day to die for me, so I also can't really comprehend the posts saying positive stuff about it.
I think we can all agree that if Reddit’s recent bullshit ends up meaning people go back to running old school forums it’ll be the absolute funniest possible outcome
@roxy exactly. Just the other day I was telling my coworkers on how bad microsoft gamepass become in the future, because the "stadia way" just there for them. preservation will be fun one day,
btw a topic my workmates don't understan: "why should we as a society preserve games" they say as they boot up Age of Empires 2 (the AoE2 part was fiction)
The https://kbin.social server is now federating with the Fediverse. You can follow/interact with kbin.social magazines & users from other Kbin servers, Mastodon & rest of the Fediverse. For example the TIL magazine is at @TodayILearned, the lead dev of Kbin is at @ernest
There's a new Kbin server at https://readit.buzz which is run by the same people as the Universodon.com Mastodon server. It's open for signups, just click "log in" and then "register".
@Tusky Enhancement request: when composing a reply, you should be able to see the toot you're replying to. (Some of us have very bad short-term memory)
I run https://pixelfur.maw.best a pixelfed specifically for furry artists it has a gallery feature etc. AND integrates with mastodon so you can have followers from mastodon. Go tell it to your artist friends who are hesitant to join the fediverse or are here on mastodon but would like to have a more image focused platform.
I came across a neat browser extension today. It looks for "rel=me" links pointing to mastodon profiles, and puts it in a little list for you to review.
In other words, you visit a website, and if tells you if there are any mastodon accounts associated to the website.
I said everything is better with a mascot, right? 😁
I learned that Tyson Tan, the artist that, among other things, did the KDE and Krita mascot, also designed a mascot, Libbie, for LibreOffice, but the mascot contest was cancelled because stuff wasn't "professional enough" or something. BUT all his art was available, thus, I took inspiration by this (outdated) project https://github.com/sdomi/libbieoffice and set my own Libbie Splash & Icons with his artwork.
@BryanGreyson looks like it. Every Software should have a cool mascot. It attracts creative minds. I'm pretty sure krita, godot and KDE all work so well because they all have cute mascots and the mastodon community is pretty much full of xenia fanart (the alternative Linux mascot).
