During the salad days of #podcasts, I used to get most of my #music that way.

Then as podcasts became more corporate, copyright fears closed most of the music podcasts so that one could only hear bits of songs.

Sad, sad.

But I am beginning to find some podcasts that post full songs and are downloadable. Please post more #musicPodcasts here so that I can find lots for my commute. Thanks.

So here are 2 questions to think about.

To actually save the planet will we need to turn off the internet?

Or is it the essential resuscitation tool?

Why would turning off the internet do anything to save the planet?

First, we can use clean energy to run it.

Second, communication aids coordination and prevents information control by only the powerful.

Climate change requires us to react in coordinated and measurable ways that are aided by internet communications.

Right wing media is again demonizing migrants and refugees for "having cell phones." Look ya'll—never take seriously those who ridicule migrants & refugees for having a smartphone or laptop.

Because they’re trying to escape violence, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is luxury, survive a month without it.

Years ago I wrote a story about a homeless woman who had a cell phone, and it wasn't until I wrote it that I realized how essential it is to have one if you are a marginalized person.

First, you don't have a home, so it is the only way you can be reliably contacted.

Second, smartphones can be used to hold money securely in an account preventing theft.

Third, you can read or play games if you are bored waiting for stuff.

They should try empathy. It is a useful exercise.

Yesterday morning I woke up thinking of a hashtag:
#cutOutTheBillionaire

The point was, so much of what we do these days exploits both the purchaser and the creator while making some rich billionaire even richer.

If we could develop more systems that would allow for the transfer of money and resources to people without going though some billionaire's pocket, it would give the lower half of the economic system a bit more freedom.

Has the #fediverse come up with a viable store model yet?

How do I chose people to follow?

None of the above.

Follow those who will make your feed interesting.
I know Jack about customizing cars, ants, or BTS but I follow those who post about them to get new perspectives.

I do know a lot about moss though, so similar ideas is one reason I follow, but that's about a hashtag. ( #mosstodon )

Got lost somewhere in this question.
Are you trying to get more follows? I say forget that and try to get more emotional benefit from the feed. #follow

This carpenter ant escaped when I was cleaning their outworld. Now she desperately wants back in. This is why I don’t worry much about escaped ants they always come back — though she has attracted a crowd to the lid and you can see them sticking their antennae out to touch her.

I've been realizing that in the last few years #kpop artists have become more into more unisex dancing.

This just scrolled by on my youtube kpop feed. The male and female dancers are doing more or less the same steps.

This is a style I tend to like in #kpopdance . More power to them!

I have always liked the more unisex shows and dances. I prefer it to overtly male or female dance steps and groups.

I realize it is a personal preference, but I really like seeing different looking bodies doing the same steps.

Adenine has so many more uses. Even though the others make cute letters. The fact that it is in NADH. NADPH, and ATP make it just the creme de la creme of nucleotides.

And the double rings. Love 'em.
I know Guanine has it too, but GTP ... well, it just doesn't quite measure up, if you know what I mean.

And the way ATP can bind to both Thiamine and Uracil makes it kinda Bi.

Probably more than you bargained for with this question, but I did put Likes DNA in my profile, so go figure. 😝

I am still having problems with Wordpress.

I linked myself with my blog and even though I post on the blog, I never get notifications even though I tried to follow. When I look it says Follow requested, but from the wordpress site, I can't see anyway to let a mastodon person follow me.

I got one follow early on during testing, but now when I view my site it says that it has no followers.

Are there any for managing mastodon from wordpress?

Can someone help me write one?

NPCs now react to destroying barrels (or anything) in their stores. Currently they just yell at you, I'll figure out deeper consequence later.

EXCITEMENT!
Is this the show that launched a thousand... um... one very large ship.

I can't tell you how exciting it was to see my favorite characters revived in a new setting. It looks more dated now, but that's because everyone copied its style. Amazing!

Star Trek - Amok Time

INTRIGUED!
Spock had always been my favorite character, and finding out about his past and the strange customs on Vulcan was intriguing. I wanted to know more.

I read ST novels and ate up Enterprise because of this episode.
(the hardest thing about the challenge is narrowing down to one photo).

Star Trek The Next Generation - Darmok

This show made me feel SMART.
In a very short period of time we went from not knowing anything about a language, to an ending where we understood clearly what was going on.
There have been criticisms of the reality of such a situation, but from a writing and teaching perspective. GENIUS!

I almost picked Connections or Cosmos for the last one, but this series not only INSPIRED me to want to write and teach, but also EXPANDED MY MIND. I watched it again, and there are so many things I believe that I first heard here. Truly a series everyone should see.
