Funny thing about some American guys and their disdain for the Metric system, sometimes over the air arguments break out about it. Eventually some wag will pipe up " well you didn't put a man on the moon, did you?" In one particular rendition of this argument, somebody on the other side of the planet breaks in and says in accented English: " you didn't either, you paid Germans to do it, and Nazis to boot!" I'm researching the growth of ebikes ...

... in cities around the US

I've talked to many people who love them!

But also want to include the perspective of folks who have concerns ...

... i.e. about the speed and weight of ebikes in accidents with pedestrians or other cyclists, and the like

@clive Ebikes are not a new thing, I've been riding one for 12 years now. I built my own. What is new is regulation hasn't caught up with them yet. Where I live in Vancouver Canada, you are limited to speed of 32kph (20mph) max, and there are a lot of bikes here that are not street legal. I think that a proper ebike should be able to be pedaled at least 5km (3 miles) by an average person without motor assist. If you can't do that, it's not an ebike!

@clive I am of course speaking to these huge ebikes with fat tires that are bigger than some motorbikes, and the scooters that have joke pedals attached to them so they can qualify as ebikes. <rant off>

I'm not usually one for classic rock, but I've gone down a rabbit hole with April Wine. I had no idea they were so prolific in their prime. The guitar lick from "Coulda Been A Lady" never gets old and "Say Hello" is an almost Cars like classic with a kind of new wave feel.
