@kde @kde this has been clarified by Adobe.

For artists, the most important parts are probably in the "Adobe’s continued commitments" section at the bottom.

Looks like someone in Sweden got up & thought it's a good day to fire up an Azure instance for AI training, using the well-known "Firefox/72" scraper. Well, not with my photos.

It's still going on, but the amount of requests would already equal ~2 GB in volume. One scraper. In less than 24h.

This is the reality when you have a website with visual content. Isn't AI great?

Something wrong with Mastodon or my laptop, or some recent updates? Lots of error messages, can't upload a photo, took forever to load my timeline, not even showing photos. Has been a problem already for a few days.

@trumpet @holger @canyakker hello, mas.to user here too. No problem on my end, using Firefox & the web interface.

A friend from Germany sent me a message with a photo today: "Your card with New Year's greetings has arrived!" — I thought that was rather late... but upon closer inspection, it turns out that it was even later! 🤪

The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage gets a bold new body and big power boost

It features modern tech, a better interior, and an extra 150 hp on the old model.

@arstechnica I dream of a world in which reporting on gas-guzzling, climate killing dick enlargements for a few rich people has ceased.

    @elaterite interesting — some strange artifacts are visible, almost like too much of Topaz Sharpen AI / Photo AI... which I know you're not using (I think).

    alexskunz,
    @alexskunz@mas.to avatar

    @elaterite the twigs in the top right corner in particular. It seems like they were out of focus (camera focused at infinity) and an AI "intervened" and tried to bring them into focus. It's a very recognizable artifact.

    alexskunz,
    @alexskunz@mas.to avatar

    @CStamp even if it's motion, it shouldn't look like this... it's very clearly an artifact introduced by "AI" smarts (gone wrong) @elaterite

    alexskunz,
    @alexskunz@mas.to avatar

    @elaterite it wouldn't surprise me if there was no way to turn it off. My iPhone turns all skies into an "extreme polarizer to the max" blue and there's no way to turn it off either.

    Bird Flu Outbreak

    "H5N1 now confirmed in 11 US farms. Cats die within 48 hours."

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/4/6/2233826/--H5N1-now-confirmed-in-11-US-farms-Cats-die-within-48-hours

    "Vets are being advised to wear full PPE (personal protection) if seeing a cat with neurological symptoms, after forty cats died on a dairy farm in New Mexico. The virus has proved 100% fatal and cats die within 24-48 hours.

    Is it safe to consume dairy products? The answer for RAW products is NO. The virus has been detected in unpasteurised milk."

    @SteveThompson why are there 40 cats on a dairy farm

    @SteveThompson or Daily Kos "community" posts are unverified garbage...

    @inquiline that's why I was compelled to think that Daily Kos is garbage (as it very often is) but oh miracle of miracles, those passages have mysteriously disappeared from the Daily Kos article now. 😜@SteveThompson

    For here is colorful Mount Perry, a peak in the northern Black Mountains of Death Valley National Park.

    The hike to Mount Perry's summit starts at Dante's View and is pretty much "uphill both ways", with a distance of 8.5 miles. From Dante's View one first loses about 800 feet in elevation — and then has to gain it back. And the same on the way back out of course. 🤪
