Good morning all of you lovely individuals around the #Fediverse today!

Let's start with our #MorningMoments and talk about what we all did over the weekend and what the week ahead has in store.

For me, it's busy work stuff as usual with a meeting at 12pm. Then of course, many more emails after that.

The wife and I got caught up on TV shows yesterday which was super nice so I'll likely play some more Enshrouded tonight.

I've honestly never seen so many people get upset over someone using a hashtag incorrectly ONE TIME!

Like, do you folks understand that we're all human and make mistakes, and those of you who report/limit people for using the wrong hashtag are human just like the person who used the wrong hashtag?

Like come on folks. You're supposed to be grown. Some of you are even admins/co-admins/mods of servers. Truly this isn't setting a get example, is it?

Work/Career Update!

As many of you know, I have worked for @novalauncher for 8 1/2 years. When I was hired, I was done so as a contractor and remained a contractor the entire time. Then two years ago, Branch Metrics acquired Nova and while I made the transition over, I was still a contractor due to Branch not having things setup to hire full time employees in the state of North Carolina. I don't know if it's just me or not, but the update to Mastodon 4.2 broke the way Mastodon handles the PWA if you install it on PC.

Before, you would click it to open it and it would default to Advanced Web View if that's what you were using.

Now, it defaults to single column, even if you have use Advanced Web View checked within settings. You then have to click the link at the top of the page in the screenshot below to actually get to your multi-column layout. @Gargron

The other day, I mentioned here: https://allthingstech.social/@cliffwade/111767025900398705 That I was looking to move away from Gmail, but more specifically create a new email address since I had been using the same one for 20 years and decided to give @protonmail and @fastmail both a try.

I have decided to go with Fastmail as I feel it meets my needs a bit better at this time. I have even decided to go with a paid plan, which is something I thought I'd never do, pay for email!

Internet has been out since about 12pm today.

Spectrum will be here at 10am Thursday(again) to possibly fix it.

AT&T will be here at 2pm Thursday to install our new 5Gb up/down Internet.

I've decided I'm leaving Spectrum after 18 months with them.

1Gb for $105.00 a month at Spectrum.

5Gb for $160.00 a month at AT&T.

Seems like an easy decision.

I'd love to be part of a podcast or something similar again. Something tech related if at all possible where we just talk about all things related to tech.

Working for @novalauncher and having been using Android and iOS for 13+ years plus numerous other tech related stuff should give me a pretty good advantage to talking tech.

Finding one to join is likely the hard part of it all.

Seeing all of these folks talk about "defederation" from Meta before they even get to the #Fediverse is quite sad and hilarious all at the same time.

While I won't give me exact thoughts right now as I will likely do that tomorrow, y'all need to get a grip on yourselves.

Let them get here, see how it goes, see what happens, and then decide. But making a decision right NOW, in my opinion is ridiculous for a LOT of reasons.

You're just assuming and hoping at this point. SAD SAD SAD!

What if Mastodon had a way to save the ALT text you entered each time you used a new image. So if you used the same image later, it would some how know what you used the last time and give you the option to automatically use that instead of having to type something each and every time.

Seems to me there would be some way to be able to do this easily and to save all of us time from having to type the same thing for ALT text on a regular basis.
