A THREAD ON THREADS!

I’m receiving lots of questions about our position on federation with Threads and realised I haven’t posted on this subject for a while.

We have lots of users who do want to federate with Threads, and lots of users who don’t. It’s my job to find a good solution that works for everyone.

Our position has always been to start from a defensive stance due to our technical and moderation concerns.

So what sort of solution do we think might keep (almost) everyone happy?

Updates to Cork:

Even though it might not be required since Cork is not on the App Store, I still added the new AppPrivacy stuff to it in this commit: https://github.com/buresdv/Cork/commit/ca9c3746edeaee2e456593c3786d3d006b7bbabb

So you can be sure that there's no privacy shenanigans going on :cat_1:

Xcode 15 adds bookmarks to keep track of multiple files, it’s awesome. Added a key binding for quick access.

@MuseumShuffle I used Command + Shift + B, because that is currently “Archive" and I don't use that at all in Xcode. (Had to resolve the conflict, but worth it.)

Through my technical writing career, I have discovered that if I ever want to switch careers, I should go into QA.

It’s ridiculous how many bugs I discover while writing manuals that our QA had no idea about!

@davidbures QA is also such an underrated skill/profession.

As a developer, I also think I would make a good QA Engineer, some day it may be nice to just find bugs instead of having to fix them!
