For some time now I was thinking about presenting not only via pictures but short video clips that don't exceed the Mastodon server's file size limit. 🗄️

Finally I arranged to capture, edit and publish my first video directly here on Mastodon. 📼

When you've got 40 seconds and want to know what going too fast in Sonic can lead to, give the video a try and me some feedback. 👌

@repeatro Interesting game logic as the level boundaries were decided by where the camera could go. So, if you get off screen, you'll die.
That reminds me of a glitch in the very first level of Sonic on the Master System: You could speed up and jump up on a certain point to fly straight to the end.

@timbuck2themoon I think Lakka (https://www.lakka.tv) might be a good option as it is the official distribution of RetroArch, though I haven't tried it myself yet.

WinDoom is an early port of DOOM v1.8 for Windows 3.1x, made by Gabe Newell and Robert Hess. It used Win32s and WinG APIs to enhance graphics and sound, and supported MIDI music. It had some technical issues, but was playable. WinDoom was never released and was replaced by DOOM 95, which used DirectX and was a showcase for Windows 95.

the best thing about ghidra is that no matter which version you're using, setting equates sometimes just doesn't work, but if you google it, you only find several bug reports which basically say "equates don't work" and then it's "closed, fixed in X.Y.Z" and that's a version you're upgraded way past

@foone Now I have read all of your comments on this, and I'm glad I couldn't see the mess behind this game while playing it back then. As a programmer, I could only guess that he was inexperienced, and this was his first project.
