What is one decision you've made in your life, that you knew was the absolute right decision to make and why?

@RickiTarr to give up my office and career of 20 years (massage therapy) in 2020 to keep my family safe and virus free. I imagined going back to my office and building and realized the stress and risk were not worth it. I miss my clients and the work sometimes but don’t regret it for a moment.

NYT and Vox are calling critics of Israel “pro-Hamas” or a “radical fringe.” They’re writing articles about how nobody is mourning Israeli lives correctly, unself-aware that they haven’t mentioned the unimaginable death toll and suffering Israel chooses. They don’t mention the power imbalance or how Israel has funded Hamas. They discuss Jewish discrimination – not people being denied citizenship in an open air prison.

I feel like I am breaking with reality in a way I haven’t since Trump.

@RickiTarr I need to remember to take photos of my food for this thread! I made a nice tuna salad for lunch with some red bell pepper and avocado so it was more photogenic than usual - but I ate it already! Here's some sweets I made this week - "cake mix cookies" [vanilla cake mix made with less liquid to result in a cookie dough]. I stuffed some of them with a fig mixture - yum! I'm going to try snickerdoodle flavor next time.

@RickiTarr @cynblogger A big part of it is the the time! If I’m already home, I’ll take the time to cook. And after finally investing in items like harissa and tamarind paste I am motivated to make my own versions of dishes that are satisfying.

@RickiTarr Humphry Slocombe’s flavors always surprise. They have had a special prosciutto ice cream (!!) - or their Jesus Juice (red wine and cola) or Hibiscus Beet sorbets. @RickiTarr Oh just remembered I tried Durian ice cream at Polly Ann. We have a lot of fun ice cream places here in SF that serve ‘unusual’ flavors. But I tend to be a very basic ice cream person- give me a bittersweet chocolate or marble fudge and I am a happy camper!
