    I successfully asked my dad and step-mom to for church tomorrow morning. Step-mom was much more gracious about it, but dad grudgingly accepted the wisdom when I told him that estimates suggest 1 of every 35 people in the US currently has .

    At work on Saturday I read this guest post on Danya Ruttenberg's Substack, and immediately checked out and started reading Ada Rapaport-Albert's book, "Women and the Messianic Heresy of Sabbatai Zevi, 1666-1816." Utterly fascinating.

    @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I concur! ๐Ÿ˜€โ€‹ I'm obsessed with Judaism and Jewish history as a whole, but especially praying in Hebrew (and the Hebrew language specifically). I love the ways Jewish theology plays with its sacred texts, and how argument is central to finding the truth. As for the Hebrew Bible - whew! The Song of Songs and its ancient erotica. Jonah and its deadly serious humor. The theme of creation, especially in Genesis, Psalms, Job, and some of the prophets. I could go on and on. (Full disclosure, I am a Christian from an interreligious family, and have been a member of an extremely welcoming Reform synagogue for the past 5 years. It's my faith community now.)
