@Vivaldi @jon I wished the space between bookmarks in folders in the bookmark bar could be changed back to it like it was before the latest update. On a desktop browser I don’t need much space between bookmarks there. It’s also annoying that the text is now bold.

Sanity checking myself: does anyone else feel like the (US) punditry anger directed at the EU for forcing Apple to let devs sell things easily from a website and to ask users what default browser they want to use, is way more intense than any of the concessions (app censorship, 🇹🇼 flag vanishing, iCloud data moved to state-controlled data centers, etc.) they've made for China over the years?

My memory is the vibe for China stuff is always, “it's not good, but what can you do, it's the law 🤷‍♂️”

@nileane @gruber I have Vivaldi as my default browser and when I open Safari I have to choose a default browser and none of the options is Vivaldi. So if I would want to use Safari only once, I guess I have to set a different browser than Vivaldi as default and then switch back to Vivaldi. Unless I don’t do that I can’t use Safari? To me it looks like Apple made it this bad on purpose.

@MonaApp I noticed a change recently in the share option „save as picture“. In the past it worked always fine but since a couple of days maybe, the picture is always blurry and I have to use the share option a second time. The second time the image is not blurry anymore.

Some lady made up an entire fan fiction story about me that has zero basis in reality, she made every single thing about her story up, making up conversations and people that don’t exist. It’s delusion and I hope she gets the help she needs because making up fantasies like this about a person u don’t know is not normal. It’s scary honestly.

@taylorlorenz Oh, I think I know who you're talking about. I saw a repost here and was quite surprised. After I looked into the thread I noticed that the person wrote maybe 30-50 (?) very long posts about it. After thinking that this person might be obsessed, I blocked her because I thought that if there was any truth to it, someone who seemed less fixated would also write about it. Looks like I was right with what I did. Could be also a smear campaign.

@gedeonm Apple should just end doing a big release every year. I hate that. I use Windows at my workplace and it's so nice that I only have to do a major update every 6 to 7 years. Because of that, my next laptop will also be one with Windows. I have enough of getting different bugs every year with a new release.

@FreakyFwoof @ruario I'm neither deaf or blind, but I benefited from once because I didn't fully understand what the picture was about and was able to understand it better through the alt text. That proofs again: Anything that makes life easier for people with disabilities also makes life easier for everyone else.

@dimillian Yes, because I’m usually do that with 2D-Mario games. Weirdly that I don’t do that with 3D-Mario games even though I like 3D-Mario games much more.

Looks like Star Ocean 2 on Switch will not have the full game on the cart. Seems Square went with only an 8GB cart so it needs an additional download of 4.1GB.
I had it preordered but just cancelled and I’ll now get it when it’s something like €20 instead.

I really hate these penny pinching practices.

EDIT:

looks like the European version doesn't require a download.
It does have an optional one for languages besides Japanese and English.

@OutofPrintArchive Yes, looks like the text and voices are in English and Japanese. For German, French, Italian and Spanish it requires a 3 GB download. But it would be kinda weird if the US version would mentioned that on the cover because of that.

I get it: @IceCubesApp is not invested to give us a „boost/fav/bookmark as…“ feature for multiple accounts anytime soon. And I respect the fact that it's hard to implement and open source and there are more interesting topics t hand.

But.

Consider at least, to give us a simple „open this very posting with my account X on this app“. This wouldn’t be perfect, but right now a) switching the account and then b) finding the right posting is such. A. Pain.

Please. Make this happen.

@bjoreman @dimillian Agree. If a company like Signal would leave the EU because the EU would successfully fight encryption, I would say WTF EU. But if a company leaves because the privacy or misinformation regulations in the EU I’m on the side of the EU.

@dimillian While I do not agree with the EU in everything, which is, I guess a normal thing, I agree with the EU in fighting disinformations on social media. If companies can’t do that, I‘m okay with them leaving the EU market.

@mho Nerd stuff (history and sales data) from Nintendo - there were some great fan accounts on twitter. Also corporates like Limited Run Games. To follow the release of limited physical released videogames was the easiest on twitter.

I gave up over a 150,000 followers on Twitter to be on Mastodon full time. Yes, the engagement and reach is a lot less, but I'll build it back up and it will be worth it. I hate to see people run back to Twitter because of friends or careers or whatever. You know what changes that? Being on Mastodon and bring those people here. Musk is a horrible person, don't be one of his enablers.

@grumpygamer But I guess a lot of the 150k followers on twitter are not active users anymore while on Mastodon much more of the followers are (at the moment) are still active users. But on the other side the gaming world is still not very big here on Mastodon
