I think there are tons of people who would love a regular car, an EV or Hybrid, without all that other electronic junk. Purposefully making transitioning to cleaner options too expensive is a stupid policy.

    @helma Klopt, zo werkt Albert Heijn natuurlijk ook: zonder Bonuskaart geen korting.

    Maar zonder die kaart kan je nog steeds boodschappen doen, alleen zonder korting. Dat is een keuze.

    Maar bij Philips is die keuze er niet: zonder je privacy op te geven, kan je die lampen niet gebruiken. Wel kopen, maar niet gebruiken.

    Ik heb nog eens goed nagedacht over wat @SIDN nu eigenlijk van plan is en mijn bezwaar komt hier op neer:

    Open Systemen, Open Standaarden horen voor en ook voor het registratiesysteem van SIDN heilig te zijn!

    Ik vind dat we er met z'n allen voor moeten pleiten dat het registratiesysteem van een registry (een essentiële organisatie voor de toegang tot het internet) gebouwd zou moeten worden in uitsluitend Software, uitsluitend op basis van volledig open gedraaid op volledig open

    We betalen daar immers met z'n allen voor, als gebruikers van de .nl domeinnaam en als belastingbetalers.

    En wat mij betreft is er geen enkele goede reden om daar ook maar 1 cent van uit te geven aan een mensenrechten schendend, in de USA gebaseerd, big tech bedrijf. Het is goedkoper is wel de allerslechtste reden om dat te doen.

    @koen @SIDN Hier kan ik het alleen maar volledig mee eens zijn.

    Jezelf in een ongezonde, afhankelijke positie plaatsen, is al geen goed idee, maar als je daarmee je hele land in zo'n positie plaatst, moet iemand je echt keihard terugfluiten.

    Not only that, we need all sorts of non-profit digital services. Some stuff needs to be handled by a party that is driven by a pledge. A pledge to work in your best interest.

    Commercial parties claim they do, but they always have a higher goal, and always the same: making money. Your best interest is only a means to achieve that goal.

    You'd want most of the basic Internet services offered as a public service. Like education, healthcare or roads.

    I need a place to scream.

    The political party of which I've been a member for decades has just opened an account in Threads, as soon as it was possible. They have NOT opened a similar one in Mastodon, one year since the mass .

    I'm outraged. How can it be that the values of this organisation are so far from mine at the moment.

    The usual reason not to be in : "we have to stay in Twitter because it's where people are". Now they're in ? WTF.

    @rafa_font Nah, no backlash, I'm only a normal member.

    I pointed them at the irony of forcing people who want to join a meeting, to use Zoom and WhatsApp. I pointed them at several alternatives, and offered to create an evaluation-setup. And of course, I refused to join meetings with that software.

    But when I only got a luke-warm "not now, maybe some day", I lost interest. If that's the reaction, maybe this isn't my party.

    @jorijn I avoid commercials, always. If radio or TV wants to shove some of that through my throat, I switch channels, immediately.

    I have uBlock Origin, and only watch stuff on YouTube via Invidious.
