20s. Some kind of anarchist :anarchism:. Technically a UI/UX designer.

I make weird videos about politics in video games sometimes and put them on PeerTube, but not often. Hobbies include reverse engineering screenshots and inspecting elements.

Profile picture by @paraplyene over on the birdsite. Header is a drawing I made of a background from The Longest Journey, which is a good game, you should play it if you like point and click adventure games.

Will sometimes post or boost lewd stuff.

Someone reminded me it's time to post some alternatives to Adobe software:

@gamolf_dev @golgaloth speaking of which, does anyone know of any tutorials for actually doing motion graphics with Blender?

Cause I've seen people recommend it for that but then not actually have any idea how to do it or where to even point people who wanna learn to, I've never been able to get a proper answer so I'm left with "just learn the entirety of Blender lmao"

Since I switched to KDE I've been experiencing this weird bug where my whole PC (minus sound stuff, apparently) freezes when I click on certain things on the secondary display.

It only happens sometimes, and mainly it seems to happen when I click on Telegram's title bar. I have no idea what causes it or how to figure out any kind of clue o.o

It also... seems to happen when playing RimWorld most of the time, and moving the mouse out of that and onto the second screen window, if that's relevant in any way

I'm using Arch, KDE and Wayland

So yeah I'm once again asking for computer help 😔

"You'd expect this from Joe Scarborough he's a far left opinion commentator."

-Fox Anchor

Joe Scarborough served as a Republican in the FL house. And ... as a member of the far left I'm deeply insulted. As I think Joe would be too. We are in crazy town.

"far left"

@futurebird yeah but he has a show on MSNBC and we all know that there is literally no difference between neoliberalism and communism

What the fuck I just found out that Linux can't support FreeSync via HDMI or HDMI 2.1 in open-source drivers because the HDMI Forum won't let AMD put it in cause they want the HDMI spec to be fully proprietary 💀

Mac OS 9 draws these red title bars and frames around warning messages and it's so cool

Why don't modern OSes do this wtf

Why are so many artists that make some really really cool stuff not put image descriptions when they post on fedi 😭

Like, I really wanna boost your stuff but I don't wanna make my profile inaccessible to people with disabilities so I just, leave a like I guess 🥲

There's apparently some guy who keeps puncturing my car's tires for unknown reasons. Just, puts screws into them, or on the ground near them so I run them over when I reverse.

Is there anything I can do about this? I have no idea who he is, I just know it might be some old guy because of something a friend saw and just, old men being Like This in Romania.

My dad and my friends are suggesting putting up some kind of camera or setting up a wide-angle/360 battery-powered dashcam inside the car, cause apparently that's not illegal? And then calling the cops but that means I'd have to do all that shit and also call the cops on someone, which I would really like to not do 😬

Idk, any ideas?

Funny how none of the articles talking about the cybersecurity risks on electric car chargers mention how none of this would've been an issue if the chargers ran more like gas pumps than data collecting points for one of the 212515 companies you have to download the app of and enter your personal details into 💀

So uh, I recently switched to KDE because of, uh, stuff I don't wanna get into again, but I'm having trouble with emoji

Basically, they seem to work alright in Qt apps, but in GTK apps they're just... completely invisible. The GTK/Gnome emoji picker shows up but it's completely empty apart from the category headers, and this affects Firefox as well since it uses GTK for window rendering afaik

I deleted some files that I thought were outdated but was actually the Noto Color Emoji font, and that did something, cause emojis started popping up again, except it was the Windows 10 set (so, outdated and incomplete). I reinstalled the Google emoji font from the Arch repos, but now they're invisible again.

Does anyone know how I could fix this? :(

I use Arch btw

Here lies Irony, she was not well for many years, but after a valiant fight she is dead.

This would be ironic for any of the speakers at this event... but none more so than this man.

That people were hauled off by security for heckling him? Well irony would have had something to say about that, but as I explained, she is dead. RIP.

One of the silliest things about 90s Star Trek to me is the all-touchscreen UI of everything.

I can't imagine driving a car with a touchscreen, let alone piloting a giant spaceship. Or like, Jake Sisko does serious writing work on a PADD and doing so much typing without a physical keyboard sounds so painful 😭

Oof I just discovered the concept of dead fedi instances' domains being taken over for nefarious purposes

I clicked on an artalley dot social link and it popped up with one of those "your device is at risk" scareware pages trying to get me to install an apk on my phone 😬

What's the cheapest mini-PC I could use as a media PC (i.e. slap Linux on it and hook it up to the TV permanently)? I have this ASUS stick PC thing but it's running on an old Atom CPU so it's not fast enough to be able to properly handle HD video decoding

I looked it up online and seems like the cheapest ones are like, 300€? Which isn't a lot-a lot but it's still kind of a lot for me 💀

Does anyone know if there's gonna be aurora stuff going on tonight as well? I missed it completely and I read it might happen tonight, but mostly in American articles which are a lot of timezones away 😅

I'm asking cause I'm planning on driving outside of the city to hopefully actually see it, but I'm also kinda terrified of sitting alone in the dark in the middle of nowhere and if there's no chance of it happening I'd rather not go lol

...huh I just realized that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is set in 2027

I never realised how near-future it was, even when it came out it was, what, 15, 16 years into the future

Always assumed it was decades and never really checked until my current playthrough (was gonna finally play the first one but health issues moment means it's probably for the better to play stuff in bed on the Deck and not on the chair at the desktop)
