It's so fun to switch btwn my 12 string and my six. It's going to be a long while before that twelve string feels natural, but I love the sound, and it's my only guitar that has a pickup, so it has a specific job to do.

Then coming back to my old friend six string, it's stepping into my favorite pair of shoes. I don't think I notice how well it fits until I've spent time with a different instrument. :acoustic_guitar: 💌

During the Great Depression, the Pack Horse Library Project was a Works Progress Administration (WPA) program in which the librarians, who were often called "book women" or "book ladies," delivered books to remote parts of Appalachia.

This recording is going along swimmingly! Just back from a break to walk the dog. I'm getting the hang of the basics of Reaper on Linux.

Once I get going, the workflow is soooo much nicer than audacity or ,dare I say, my trusty old 4-track. Certainly wouldn't have the flexibility to double mic everything and balance condenser with dynamic everywhere!

Time to start paying attention to all those free VST posts in my timeline I guess!

at the risk of sounding like a huge book nerd (I know so little), IMPOSITION OF UNNECESSARY OBSTACLES by @older is physically a beautiful book. No idea what that type is, but it's so satisfying, and looks great on the title page.

And okay, this is weird, but am I wrong? did they use a fancy ink to print it? It's so crisp and silky, looks like what you'd buy in a pot at the stationary store.

... leaving aside the story as written, which is delicious.

In 1974, this incredible discovery was finally recognised and Antony Hewish was awarded the Nobel Prize for Not Being Jocelyn Bell Burnell.

My particular* kind of smart** makes a lot of intuitive leaps, like knowing "it works if N=4" before proving it with 10 steps.

I thought I'd lost that with encephalitis. But yesterday I had a glimpse of it again, when I told a pair programmer we didn't need a variable, and had to step through why when he didn't believe me.

So, recovery is still ongoing if not linear. More is possible.

It's hard to find an audience for your music if you don't fit the mold and feed the algorithm. My music doesn't fit any mold and repels every algorithm it comes into contact with. So if it's going to be heard, if YOU'RE going to hear it, you'll have to make a conscious choice to click thru when I post it. Like this:

Sometimes I'm not in the mood for a particular kind of music, but I like the artist and want my friends to know about them, so boost w/o necessarily listing.

My music gets around 2.5% click through on YouTube (not everyone's cup of tea), so I figure it's par for the course
