This guy made a camera in Blender. By which I mean you create a 3D scene in blender, then put this camera model in the scene. It has an aperture, working lenses, and a sensor, which is what the Blender camera is looking at. It simulates what the physically modelled camera would see.

It's insane, wildly inefficient, completely pointless, and utterly brilliant all at once.

As somebody who likes espresso, Starbucks offends me. It's not just slightly poor quality, it's monumentally bad. You don't expect it to be great because it's mass produced, but you'd expect them to excel at 'consistently average'. Instead, I suspect some execs in Seattle have a bet going as to how bad they can make it and still have folks claim coffee is supposed to taste like that.

There's apparently no way to just add a task/issue/whatever the fuck you want to call it to an Epic. You have to just create a new... think... and manually link it. There's no 'create me a new thing here'.

One of my control plane/storage nodes kept freezing at approx 00:10 every day. Just removed it from the cluster, moved the 2 #ceph OSDs it was hosting to a former worker, and reprovisioned the worker as a control plane/storage node. All with no downtime 😅

Letters from Iwo Jima: the companion film to Flags of our Fathers, it tells the story of the battle for Iwo Jima based on letters written by Japanese soldiers. It's in Japanese with subtitles and no dub. I usually find that annoying, but I quickly forgave it. It's thought provoking, and much better than the first film. Also unlike that film it stays with the battle start to finish. Recommended.

#DuoLingo just completely reset the Chinese course while I was doing it. It 'migrated' my progress to the new structure, but the vocabulary is completely different. I'm supposedly still on the fourth module, but I now don't know most of the vocabulary from the first module, and it won't let me retake it. I've reset my progress, starting again 😞
