    Just watched a bit of the arbhar V2. The new fully stereo grain firing sounds limitless- with 2x grains and two different hard-panned LR sources you've basically got two arbhars for the price of a V1 😱😁

    Oh hey, you can embed arbitrary data in a PNG.

    You can have a game with a Saints Row style character customizer, have that game take a photo of your character that it gives you as a PNG with all the numbers for the wrinkly-eyes sliders etc stored as metadata chunks, you can email that PNG to a mate and they can slot that PICTURE OF YOUR CHARACTER back into their copy of the game and they'll be able to play as your character.

    What a wacky and cool idea!

    (edit: I am informed via a private toot that I cannot boost that this is how PICO-8 software is distributed; the picture of the game IS the game! Wild!)

    @ifixcoinops this is also used in AI art packages to retain all the code necessary for another to regenerate the exact same image.

    Current me is simultaneously miffed at past me for thinking that it wouldn't take long to sew a bunch of resistor-shaped glasses cases and happy that past me is bad at time estimates, because I wouldn't have tried it at all if past me had been remotely sensible.

    Since it's now so easy to create beautiful images the challenge is to come up with ways to introduce difficulties in order to end up with beautiful /interest images that are NOT easy to create. Comments?

    @WeavingWithAI in Auto1111, adding random words (I sometimes add both general and common 9-letter words using a prompt-creator I wrote in Processing), and adding several LoRA's at low amounts can help - but it's more a case of suck it and see (which again, I have some automation around). The way AI "bleeds" concepts (eg: "marbling" doesn't only apply to floors, it applies (in the AI's mind) to skin, clothes erc) can often generate interest. boring Composition is perhaps the hardest to avoid

    From a newbie's perspective, Building <anything> in from a tarball is....complex. To the point of being too obscure. Are there really no automated steps for this?. It seems imho a huge barrier for widespread adoption 😕

    @archaeohistories fun connection: Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, the architect who restored Pierrefonds in the 19th C, was hired to design the internal structure of the Statue of Liberty. Bartholdi, (its sculptor) was his former student.
