With #renewables, even just domestic solar panels and privately installed batteries we can get domestic electricity mostly for free in a few years in many developed regions of the world. The electricity companies will do everything to make that impossible. But their claims of a grid that can't cope only shows their centralised approach that favours big consumers is failing ;)

Eventuell auch den Werbeblocker Netguard, welcher ein rein lokales VPN nutzt?

Eigentlich sollte das mit Android 13, also auch auf dem Fairphone 4 funktionieren.

The documentary Girl-Hearted by Anne Scheschonk helps, if you really want to understand how deep-rooted gender-idendity can be from an early age on.*

If it is articulated from an early age, consistently, fought over in thousand tiny battles (like barbies, dresses, a ponytail or the daily struggle to have to wear boy-clothes)... it's pretty obvious that this is different from a dinosaur-loving-phase.

Trotzdem ist dein Vorschlag weder sozial noch gerecht!
Suchterkrankungen sind eben genau das: Erkrankungen!

Über Steuern und Abgaben die gesellschaftlichen Folgekosten des Konsums zu decken ist aber eine sinnvolle Forderung.
Das kann man z.B. auch auf Medikamente mit Suchtrisiko anwenden.

In Berlin gilt für Studis jetzt ein Smartphone-Zwang.

Wer kein Smartphone hat, ist verpflichtet für das ÖPNV-Ticket zu zahlen, obwohl es nicht genutzt werden kann.

Ausgenommen sind natürlich die Studis mit reichen Eltern, die es sich leisten können ein doppeltes Ticket zu kaufen.

Aber: kein Apple- oder Play-Store -> keine Ticketapp!

Am I right in thinking that, in the year 2024, the only file system that and can all read and write on, without installing additional software is ExFAT? E.g. if I want to format a HDD to share large files with less technical relatives, that's my best choice?

In theory you can use UDF for HDDs, too.[0]

I would not recommend it, though.
Support for different features and versions varies a lot.[1]

Wir nutzen seit knapp anderthalb Monaten einen 5 mit / als Ersatz für unseren .

Anwendungsszenario:

IPTV (), Streaming per , , , , , , , ...

Zwischenfazit:

Es fehlen eine "unethische" Benutzeroberfläche, selbst startende Videos, Produktplatzierungen, Tracking, ...
Dafür:
"Langweilige" Menüführung über verschachtelte Ordnerstrukturen.

TV fühlt sich so so viel "richtiger" an.

Ich habe Kodi damals benutzt, als es noch XBMC hieß und auf der 1. XBOX lief.
Das war echt seiner Zeit voraus.

Mittlerweile haben wir keinen TV mehr und ich schaue am liebsten von meinem @jellyfin Server.

Was an Libreelec ist denn nicht geeignet für Jellyfin? Oder ist das Problem die Performance des RPi2?

Es gibt ja 2 Jellyfin-Plugins und die Möglichkeit die Daten direkt per NFS/SMB/FTP einzuhängen (dann leider ohne Jellyfin-Metadaten).

    Ich fände es besser, wenn die App-Anbieter ein eigenes Repo pflegen würden.
    Das ist bestimmt auch gut automatisierbar.

    Idealerweise ist die App per reproducible builds zu bauen und kann dann von F-Droid einfach zusätzlich signiert werden ohne die Signatur der Entwickler zu entfernen.

    Es gab auch mal ein Projekt - Skydroid - für einen dezentralen App-Store über das DNS.
    Dieses ist aber nicht mehr aktiv.

    A friend (like a daughter to me) is being stalked. The guy has an uncanny ability of knowing where she is. We’re trying to figure out how.

    Tech folks: Any recommendations on a good AirTag tracker? (She has an iPhone)

    Women: Any ideas/suggestions/relevant experience?

    There seems to be a consistent 120 second delay before he gets to where she is. Too consistent to be a coincidence. Cell carrier perhaps? Private Investigator?

    As said before, I would check the phone first.

    It's possible that the stalker has access to online accounts from Google or Apple and has access her location that way.

    Another possibility is, that the Stalker installed Malware in her phone. It's called stalkerware and it's gross and should be banned.

    The third possibility is that her vehicles, or her bag/backpack/etc. have a tracking device hidden somewhere.

    What to do?

    1. use a new phone
    2. don't login with the current google/Apple account yet
    3. get help from someone with technical expertise to go through her online accounts.

    • Change Passwords everywhere (use long and unique passwords)

    • Enable Multi-Factor-Authentication where possible

    • go through every privacy setting and disable location access/history where possible

    • find connected devices in the settings and delete all of them

    • try to find physical trackers, for example with the Android App 'Tracker Detect'
      These are not 100% reliable.

    Ich behaupte eine Vielzahl von Menschen versteht die Konsequenz aus dem Anstieg der Durchschnittstemperatur nicht. Sie haben Schwierigkeiten zu verstehen, dass +1,5°C ein großes Problem oder gar +3°C nahe Amargeddon sind.

    Denn wenn es durchschnittlich 3°C wärmer wird, dann heißt das doch:

    Bei uns sind es dann 28°C statt 25°C oder 21°C statt 18°C! Prima, muss man weniger heizen. Im Sommer 38°C statt 35°C? Prima, muss man nicht mehr in den Süden fahren.
