The EU is giving millions and millions to hypercapitalist monopolies in the form of Horizon and other lobby-funds.

There is no „real“ Open Source nor Open Protocol funding.
The opposite is the case:
Fedidevs loose their non-profit status.

Das kommt darauf an. Jede Outbox kann sich so wie sie möchte mittels throtteling etc. gegen scraping schützen, sprich wir können es der AI schwieriger machen, so daß die einfach mehr Bock auf s.o. hat

Hier sprecht Ihr aber ein ganz anderes Problem an. Es ging ja um die Auswertung von KI.

Das google mastodon scrapet, liegt nur daran, daß mastodon es in der robots.txt erlaubt.

Instanzen untereinander haben zusätzlich AGBs und können andere bei Misachtung sperren.

Wie das auf anderen Kontinenten so funzt, weiss ich nicht. Innerhalb der EU stellt das kein Problem dar (jedenfalls für die Kunden, für die ich Fediverse Software programmiere).

    Was exploring the idea of making a little app to migrate followed hashtags from one Mastodon account to another, but I've been thwarted by needing to have an "app" registered on both the source server and destination server in order to use the API. Duh. Wish I'd thought of that before I started building.

    I think the best that can be done now is a browser extension to add a button next to each tag in the list of tags that will open a tab that loads that tag on the destination server and then automatically clicks the subscribe button before closing the tab. Yuck.

    E.g. “Apple's measures may not be fully compliant as they impose various restrictions and limitations” would mean that after 30 days I loose my privilege as EU citizen.
    This means I would need to stop travel.
    It is a tough restriction.
    I love travel. And sometimes EU.

    the underlying problem in ActivityPub at the moment is that you can never be shure that others “follow” your delete.
    But the authors of the protocol describe other layers to achieve that. One is Linked Data Capabilities or OCAP - Object Capabilities which act like a configurable, revokable key. for the object
